I've been having a blast with polytone, nice vid!

I just upgraded on August 1st. Installed it and just wanted to play with it real quick before I left out for work. And just from me playing around with the 1st patch I loaded … I instantly fell in love with polytone. All I did was played a simple 1 note melody, switched the morph to about 35 percent A Side, added scales and chords, and was blown away by what came out as I automated the morph. It’s like having multiple different tones and rhythms and vibes in 1 sound. I could take this simple chord progression in so many different directions. All that from me just playing around with. I can’t wait until I sit down and actually brainstorm some ideas with it 💯 💪 …. Reason Gang Eternally !!!

Hey thanks! I'm glad you liked it - I had a blast putting that track together, was nice to exclusively use native Reason devices for a change!

Awesome demonstration! Thanks for this! Morph is awesome and is a result of Pelle's genius (also in the clavia nord lead 1) i use morph a lot on the nord ;)

Hello Adam, Good to see You, I was wondering where the rest of the video was after the short the other day, and here it is. Polytone sort of reminds Me of the Korg (or behringer) Monopoly, for many reasons.

Dude, this is basically the only synth I've been usinf since the upgrade
@Karl-em6op4 ай бұрын
I dunno. I have R12 and am holding off on upgrading because of the unexpectedly high cost - even for long-time users like me. What I hear and see in this video doesn't scream 'must have VSTi'. What Polytone does is done by hundreds of other soft synths, and I'm sure that most of them sound better, too. True, I've paid (sometimes overpaid) for a few of my workhorse synths, but the rewards, in terms of functionality and base sound, have made those costs worth while. That's why they're my 'workhorse' synths. Not gonna buy, for now.

Upgrade should be 99 bucks

What makes all these synths so different if they can all achieve the same results with modulations and effects? Makes no sense why this is still a selling point.
@adfielding5 ай бұрын
Excluding the obvious point that all synths sound different due to featuring different oscillator/filter/modulation architectures, speaking from my personal experience I found Polytone to be an excellent synth for quickly dialling in sounds that just sound... good. Of course, your mileage may vary.

Im Sorry I refuse to believe that Reson just hasent made any of the Akai MPC'S avalible on the platform. I'm a Regliously Loyal Member of the Reason Community. I love the DAW. I figured that I would buy a MPC because I ams a natural Beatmaker at heart. So needless to say I bought an Akai MPC one +. at the time Reason 12 was the newest version avalible. I knew that Reason 13 would soon be avalible. But to no availe Still No MPC Support. Reason PLEASE and any of my Breatheron that shares my frustration. If you can get a sound like the one at 6:10 out of two instances of Subtractor I'll eat a shoe
@taplubambhos28695 ай бұрын
@@adfielding 😂. Its a beautiful sound no doubt but subtractor also has 2 oscillators. If not sub than malstrom. Also if you could show me how to get the ben bohmer Diva sound from polytone I'll upgrade instantly i swear
@adfielding5 ай бұрын
@@taplubambhos2869 Subtractor does have two oscillators, and also sounds completely different thanks to its oscillator/filter/modulation architecture, much like any other synth. That aside - if you use the mix mode with Polytone, that gives you four oscillators. I think we can both agree that oscillator count isn't the sole determining factor in the overall sound of a synth, and you've rather eloquently made my point for me by suggesting I re-create a sound from Diva in Polytone - they're both analog modelling synths, but they sound completely different... much like Subtractor and Polytone.
@taplubambhos28695 ай бұрын
@@adfielding so you're saying we can't replicate diva sounds from any of reasons synths? :,(
@adfielding5 ай бұрын
@@taplubambhos2869 nothing stopping you from trying. However, what I would suggest is that if you want something that sounds just like Diva, then just... use Diva?

Listen I will stick with Reason 4 and I’m doing just fine. I prefer that over my MPC One Plus or my my Maschine MK2 using Maschine 2.0. I get to just focus on music without all that other nonsense.
