So nice to see your attention to detail, especially blending into older inferior work. It's a shame some clients don't appreciate that old work must be rectified or you risk a inferior complete product. I'm sure like me you've had you fair share of those! Thank you so much for the video, really appreciate your efforts. The few minutes don't give justice to your hard work, but we still love it. Stay safe guys.

Everything just falling nicely into place now shows the great planning that you guys must make from the start, even John's planning nicely getting Joe to core drill the shorter block. What's the purpose of the 2 short lenghts of DPC above the telescopic vents at 21.27 on the video ?

Job looking very neat and tidy. Why did you decide to use 90mm insulation with a 10mm gap rather than full fill with dritherm or equivelant? Are the u values better? Seems like its more difficult to execute to a high standard.

Hi mate does 90mm thick kooltherm 106 in a 100mm cavity give you 0.18, inline with the recently updated part L, just wondering as Ive spec'd this on a job last year, which is getting built this year and wondering if it still complies or if I have to spec something else, do you still use this or have you changed to something else in a 100mm cavity, cheers pal 👍

The Government has issued a new Approved Document Part L with guidance on works to existing buildings. The new edition of the Building Regulations Part L will come into force on 15th June 2022. The new 2022 Part L represents a significant step up from the current (2013) Edition, and includes an uplift in fabric insulation standards, improved U-values and increased thickness of insulation within extensions. The document below has been produced by Quadrant Building Control to help builders and designers to understand what the new requirements will be for domestic extensions. Typical construction details with insulation thickness have been included that should meet the U-values standards contained within the 2022 Edition of Part L. These construction details have been provided for some typical wall, floor and roof details often used within extensions. Transitional provisions are available for schemes that will start on site before 15th June 2023, but a Building Regulation Application will need to be submitted before 15th June 2022. U-VALUES FOR DOMESTIC EXTENSIONS New thermal elements should not exceed the U-values listed in the table below. KEY DATES CAVITY WALL CONSTRUCTION MINERAL WOOL INSULATION U-VALUE: 0.18 W/M2.K RIGID BOARD INSULATION U-VALUE: 0.18 W/M2.K

It’s funny that we now use tape to join insulation together. I’d be pleasantly surprised if in 5 years it was still stuck on. Is there a guarantee on that? The silver tape I’ve used is shocking. Gets wet and comes off so easily. Love to see a 50 year time laps on it… Enjoy the content as always 👍🏻
