I mean... It only had a single good entry and that was origins. Origins was amazing and I still install it from time to time all these years later. DA2 and DAI were both such a step back from origins. Most people praise the story elements but I couldn't tell you about those. I care about game mechanics and origins was by far the best while the other two watered down everything good about origins. I still remember booting up DA: I and quickly realizing what the fuck happened and why tactical mode felt so garbage. They used fucking frostbite and the only way they could find to make a tactical cam work was to treat your cursor like a character model. Just fucking why when the last two games had those mechanics nailed down. And holy fuck game devs. Stop knocking down pillars of the trinity and not replacing them with anything real.

For me DA:2 was better than Inquisition. Maybe bcos of the characters, the history and the kun. Inquisition was empty, the history was a re use of the old villain, and no likeable characters.

To be fair, DA 2 has the best story among the three. Although DA: O is a better game and has epic moments, its story was shit, just a bootleg version of Lord of the Rings. DA 2 is almost novel-like story, starting from rags to riches and even your fame cannot save you or your loved ones, you can just prevent it from falling all over.

They can't just "break off" from EA. EA owns Bioware and in turn, all of the IP's. Even if literally every Bioware member quit and decided to form a new development team they would have to fight through making games that weren't too recognizable from the IP's that EA owns. If they did, then you know that EA would jump on initiating a law suit. Win, lose, or draw.

Yes indeed. Guess it is just wishful thinking on my part. Since Bungie did it I thought perhaps Bioware could too. That being said many people I know exclusively play Dragon Age (myself included) not interested in Sci-fi so don't know how many players it would effect long term.

Issy The Bungie/Activsion split was completely different. Bungie entered a 10 year agreement with Activision then later decided to take their ball and go home. Bioware doesn't have that kind of option.

That's actually fine, I think Dragon Age has always revolved in Role Playing & Storytelling in it's atmospheric, breath taking world, and it never had fun combat. Anthem has amazing combat, so if they merge their talents & content of Dragon Age with Anthem's gameplay that's the perfect RPG game. I think people just love shit to tank when it comes to EA & Bioware, never to look at something for what it was in a positive element
