Did my fascia the same way. Had to put strips of wood glued in behind to keep it straight throughout the year to stop warping from expansion. Hot glued the foam scenery base to the front edge to prevent bumps from causing it to come separated. Turned out rock solid.

The facia came out great. What a difference maker. A few more ideas for finishing the facia. Myself I countersunk all my screws and covered them with a dab of wall board mud. A buddy used a brad nail gun. He has all sorts of cool tools😂. I like what you guys are doing. Keep the updates coming.

What a transformation Wade, really nice! Have you ever produced/shared a track plan by any chance? I’d love to see an overview of how everything ties together with the levels, branch lines etc. greetings from the UK, Ian
@SilverCreekSub
@SilverCreekSub 14 күн бұрын
Thanks Ian! I did have our original track plan a couple years ago, but things have changed so much with all renovations that it wouldn’t be accurate, also in November the last big renovation is going to get underway. The staging yard is going to be rebuilt along with one helix, with that we are going to extend the staging out under the rest of the layout. Once that is done the track plan will be final, after that could try and get a full track profile, but that’s a year away. Cheers Wade

Looks great but could you do a short video on how you anchored the upper shelf to your wall? I’m going to do the same but not sure if I should use 12 inch metal support bracket screwed to sheet rock. Rob
@SilverCreekSub
@SilverCreekSub 14 күн бұрын
The wall on the branch line, or the shelf part of the layout was done with the 12” brackets, into the cinder block, then we built a frame on top and put risers on from there.

@HolyMoley2u
@HolyMoley2u 13 күн бұрын
@@coreywidmeyer9521 Yes, I will attach to the studs. I'm doing a 2% incline for 20 ft but only 2 track 8" wide shelf. I'm just going to use stainless steel angle iron without any outside edge support to see how sturdy it is. I have been using 3/8" birch cabinet plywood which is pretty light weight. What is the distance between your upper and lower shelf? I'm planning on 18" for mine. Rob

Yes we have a few but they are getting speaker upgrades and weathering before they go on the layout. And to answer your question, there are only a couple of these style left in service, 4028 is one of them, I’m building that unit but it needs a couple of modifications to be made current, but there will be a few on the layout here in the next month or so when I get time to get them done.
