Awesome video! The editor improvements are a step in the right direction, but honestly as a mapper, the biggest blocker right now for me using the lazer editor is not being able to upload or update maps to the website :(

I second this, I'm full time lazer player, but I still have to open stable from time to time just to upload maps, if you allow to submit via lazer this will literally be the day I uninstall stable

Don't forget about latency improvements using Gsync/Freesync on Linux 🥺 I wonder how much of a difference there would be between X11 and Wayland, if any. Screen tearing is still being worked on for Wayland, but I guess that issue is irrelevant when relying on Freesync (no Gsync on Wayland yet, because Nvidia).

@@kanbekan Well, afaik SteamOS 3 is already able to tear properly in Gamescope, I guess HoloISO would as well. So it's probably only a matter of time until patches get polished and upstreamed to the Linux graphics stack.

​@@kanbekan It's done, but wlroots compositors can't tear yet, that's still being worked on. But the actual Wayland protocols and stuff already work for screen tearing

@@inconnn Neither can KWin or Mutter. Technically KWin is already done on their side, but it doesn't actually tear yet - there's also Mesa, Vulkan and maybe even kernel patches required, if I remember correctly.

The scoring is changed to scorev2, but the scores achieved before the update still show the old scoring. This makes the leaderboard very confusing.

Since v2 has slider acc and v1 doesn't, i hope if scores are retroactively converted, it will not lower the accuracy of old plays because it would be really lame to punish people for rules that didn't exist during the time of play.

i'm definitely in the minority in saying this, but i believe scorev1 was fine. perfect, even. it took so so so many variables into account (song length, combo multiplier, accuracy, etc) and gave deep context to every play, generated an entire community (score farmers/people who play extremely long maps for high ranked scores), and is just very very fun to look at on leaderboards knowing how much dedication went into each of those plays. i think it's so fascinating seeing huge variance in similar plays based on things like WHEN they dropped accuracy or HOW they broke combo. i feel like a lot of this gets lost when the scores max out at 1,000,000. it's almost a secondary accuracy gauge. every single leaderboard regardless of the map's length just kind of looks the same now. it feels boring to me. i feel like a lot of interesting history will be altered and so many exciting scores yet to be set will be watered down from now on. i personally think scorev2 should be kept as it is right now; a mod used primarily in tournament play, where it makes the most sense. i'm sure i didn't explain this well but bottom line is i'll be sad to see the score system change over. on a positive note, i love this game, i love the team behind it, i appreciate every ounce of effort that goes into making it happen, and thank you guys for making such an amazing game. just felt i had to say that to contrast from the negativity of my comment.

Scorev2 is great for tournaments because it's good for keeping the scores more consistent, but I've always loved being able to get insanely high scores. And it would completely kill the score farming community because it would just turn in to who can beat the most TV size maps that give the same scores as an FC on the unforgiving
