i personally play with a potato and i just recently realized that my potato can now run lazer in a very playable state which is amazing, thank you for all of the optimizations peppy and crew.

I've got a suggestion: When showing examples of something like transitions, wait a second before showing the actual transition. As it is, it is quite hard to actually pay attention to the transition because there is no lead-up. This is especially important around 4:18 where the entire layout changes and by the time you understand what is going on, the clip is already over.

I have to be honest, I've been able to tell the difference between alot of these subtle changes, but I had to slow down to 0.25 to even see what changed in the transition 😂 Loving the updates though, even the smallest things when they all add up really make lazer shine

Hi! here's some ideas for lazer's map selection: collection folders like windows file explorer to have well organized collections (aka being able to put a collection inside an other one filters like you already did with the star rating slider, it would be better to have a menu similar to the mods menu with a slider for every value it would be way faster and user friendly compared to using magical spells like " unplayed= star>6 ar>9.5 od>9 length>120"

i also have this mod idea but its long and not really as likely to ever exist so down in the comments it goes: Mod: this one is a complicated one to implement compared to the two other ideas. it would be kinda cool to have a mod similar to geometry dash's practice mod " if you die it makes you respawn a bit earlier" but with some mod settings like selecting what makes you die (breaking SS, missing, or dying) the complicated part is the respawn mechanism, i could think of something like: if death occurs during a kiai respawn is set at kiai's first pattern if kiai is longer than 30 seconds or if death occurs outside kiai make user respawn 2 patterns earlier (ignore patterns having less than 4 notes) (if respawn is more than 30 notes away respawn at first pattern) (when mapping combo resets i count that as a pattern) that's the simplest code for the respawn that wouldnt be too broken that i could think of where it would respawn you at a non annoying part respawn would be something like: it sets you back one pattern (minimum of 4 notes) earlier than your actual respawn point so you can get back to the rythm without that pattern actually counting in the score

FINALLY THE STUTTERING IS GONE! Especially in song select, wow now it feels smooth! Well, the game still stutters when I have a video playing on a 2nd monitor(thanks AMD's hw accel drivers) but that's not really a huge issue.

Do your monitors have different refresh rates? If so that's actually a Windows bug that happens on Nvidia too. It's the reason I have gone out of my way to have 3 144Hz monitors.

I have a feature recommendation if anyone from the dev team is reading this. Cursor trails that aren't texture based, but rather rendered in real time with shaders. With sliders that control the size, decay, brightness, softness etc. That way the issue of the trail separating into individual circles at high speed is no longer an issue. It could be an actual smooth streak. Great work on the updates btw! the game is look great :D

I love this series. But I'm gonna have to say it again cuz I want this to be heard (and act as a reminder if need be) : Add a 2 button overlay or just allow a "button area" of sorts on the screen on the mobile version of lazer plz. Edit : or maybe make a companion app that let's you overlay a 2 button keypad on top of osu? Idk how feasible _that_ would be but it's an idea ig.

Hey there, I downloaded laser yesterday and I'm realising an issue with the size and placement of circles (Basically they are smaller then on stable and it feels a bit like I'm stuck on half hard rock). Check if you don't have screen scaling enabled in Lazer. That, if set to gameplay, moght be decreasing the size of playfield and circles. Or maybe it just feels like that for other reason. Try taking a screenshot on stable and Lazer and overlay them in some image editor to see if they're really smaller.

Hi peppy, I haven't tried this update yet BUT in the last update I found something, everytime I use DT for some reason it actually applies DT haha (x2 instead of x1.5) just in the song selector and some few seconds into the map (just like 5-7 seconds in the beginning). Any chance of indicators on sliders of how fast they are going to be? /optional to turn on/off I play lots of new maps and I often face the issue of fast or slow Gameplay very suddenly or abruptly ending in a slow or fast slider, breaking combo and in lotta maps kinda breaking the fun
