Most people stopped watching at the point where 1cup salt was added. Some commented after the salt addition without finishing the video. This is a very good technic to a more crispy skin. For the video to bemore successful, i guess you have to add an instruction re the purpose of the salt and info that it will be removed later on, at the point before the salt was added. Just to make people stay and finish the video. Nice recipe and technic. Will try it with my air fryer...

No I stopped watching when I saw the price of the pork belly was $29.00. It weighs 1.160kg which is 2.557362 lbs. This means you paid $29.00/2.557362 = $11.34 per lb! Where I live I could get a pork belly with skin for $3.99 per Ib. I guess free range is that much more expensive?
@anitaling33945 жыл бұрын
Maybe if you use a needle brush to create small holes on the skin and season with salt, you can skip the big pile of salt. This is the Chinese way of doing it to make it crispy.

Hi "Lazy Awesome Dad" .. I wanted to give you the credit of this winning recipe. Whether you improvised it from your mother in law or a friend, you made it better than most traditional recipes that are usually over based. The adjustments to the duration that you made for this recipe made it easier for all of us who enjoys this crispy pork dish, to follow through and achieve some success. Like many, I have tried many Airfryer recipes, and I have failed many times until I used yours. Now my friends want me to sell them crispy pork now. I could also adapt to oriental or southeast Asian spicy style on the meat and still achieve crispy skin. Thanks again and again.

Awesome vid 👍 as an experiment I tried crisping up the skin in the air fryer for 20-30 min then slow roast at 150 for 3 hours for a softer meat. Found that air fryer can make skin too hard and not render down the fat enough

Which method you reckon works best for you so far?
@AussieBruce4 жыл бұрын
Lazy AWESOME Dad I tend to poach skin side down in water with aromatics for 10-15 min to remove impurity, scrape and prick skin with fork, marinade meat only in soy sauce & 5 spice over night to dry skin, 20 min in air fryer to crisp skin or hot grill, then salt skin then slow roast for 3 hours at 150. Pork can be reheated in air fryer next day to recrisp the skin and then stir fried with Sambal from ayam goreng 99 + green bean 👍
