You're most welcome! That's a shame about the sound recorder, it was light activated and I was hoping it would play when you opened the box. But I knew you would have to film as well so I modified it to have a power switch so you could shut it off after you took it out(the batteries are quite difficult to remove.) It wasn't a great mod and I guess I learned my lesson on hot glue reliability in transit. As far as I could tell, every one of those was in a different language except for the three English ones. I was able to determine what every language was except the other non-Japanese copy of Fashion Designer. I'm curious to know what it is if anyone recognizes it. The note was typed on a Smith Corona Galaxie Deluxe manual typewriter using a correcting ribbon to get white ink and signed using a Ko-Rec-Type correction tab. It turns out there are not a lot of options for white ink out there.

Hey Clint, Have you thought about, at some point, taking a bunch of the offbrand hardware, or hardware from unsuccessful product lines and brands and building a PC around them? Like, no creative sound cards, only 3rd party weirdness. No common branded video cards. Use the weird stuff like trident or something. No Intel branded CPU. Use something like a Cyrix or something else suitably weird, and see what a 90s computer experience was for people who could only afford the more "budget" brands? I'm sure you have enough for those kinds of parts around for a one-off video like that.
@licentiousdreams

Sounds like an interesting idea for a video or two. Would love to see what they would be capable of when compared to name brand parts that are of the same speed and what not, see if they actually keep up with the name brands.

Cyrix or something else suitably weird? I must be getting old I owned 2 Cyrix systems in the 90's they weren't super uncommon to see then. DEC on the other hand I never owned and still am looking for a working system to get my hands on to see their 64bit chips way back then (AMD may have coined the standard X64 but there were chips out before they thought about using it) read lots about them in the 90's but there cost was just to much for me to own they didn't last long in personal computers/workstations before being bought out by compaq but had been making VAX mainframes before that. Interesting idea for a build for someone to cover none the less.

Delta-V doesn't symbolize "speed". It's typically used as measure of energy. And before I get any comments saying delta-V is not energy but acceleration - It's not. Acceleration is Delta-V / time.
@Eireman_on_Twitch
@Eireman_on_Twitch 4 жыл бұрын
@@johnfrancisdoe1563Correct. The ∆-velocity, spoken as "delta vee" in pilot speak, is how much energy is required to A) turn to a course that intercepts a designation, and B) power through inertia, including still or reverse movement, to properly engage the course to completion. Of course, aircraft and exterior-atmosphere craft calculate all of this differently due to air drag, or lack of, gravity creep being bad, or good, etc.

The winner gets to play the final round which is a combination of playing Tetris which reveals letters to form a word. Spaceward Ho! was an amazing game for me when I was about 10. The version I had It had hot seat multi-player, and you could print out maps. Which meant that you and your best friend could have a real-world war room where you decided exactly which fleets to send after Christine's stronghold, which turn they would arrive, who would get the colony ship there so everyone could refuel and move against the next planet in her cluster/arm of the galaxy/etc. It was not boxed, and did not come from big-name Broderbund, it was a couple Mac floppies attached to a manual. It was v3.0 or 4.0 IIRC. There were no refueling ships (thus the colony ship was required to get your ships off the planet). There may have been dreadnoughts but I don't think there actually were.

I hope one day you find what I'd consider to be the holy grail of oddware, it was a keyboard that came out at either the tag end of the 1980s or the start of the 1990s. The fun bit was that each individual key had a liquid crystal display unit built into it. The idea was that each and every key could be reconfigured to display any other key, though why someone would need to do that was never explained.

How could someone just discover LGR a year ago? I've been watching your stuff Clint for about 8 years. I might have to go back and binge all the stuff I've already watched. It's good to know how to hook an Xbox 360 up to a tree.

MontieMongoose I only discovered him recently too. I just didn’t use KZbin for nerdy stuff all that time. I have now binged, of course.

Being on lockdown currently came across your unboxing videos. some trips down memory lane! A real shame the sun workstation didn't survive the posting to you back in a previous video. If it'd have had been one of the older ones it may have survived, my father worked for Sun and I grew up with lots of them in the house as well as every version of the pc from xt to pentium and a number of quirky systems such as the Oric systems and Toshiba MSX which came with a awesome sound cassette tape with the advertisement sound effects on.

As someone with a lot of nostalgia for the golden age of print media, seeing the dictionary-sized thickness of that December issue of PC Gamer brought a tear to my eye. They must have generated a boatload of ad revenue from that issue.

Tip for the SNES controller adapter: get a 3D printed enclosure for it (I would suggest to use ABS plastic), super cheap if you can find someone in your area with a 3D printer.

Hey Clint, thanks for the awesome videos and enjoy Vintage Computer Festival. Could we expect a new Tech Tales anytime in the next two months or so? They're some of my favorite videos you've made (especially the eMachines one, I feel like people forgot about that brand that used to be everywhere).

I could be wrong but I think it comes from another unboxing video where one package had bubble wrap or foam but also contained one packing peanut.

I kinda just remember Clint casually mentioning that he hates packing peanuts, then I remember someone sending him a single packing peanut with a troll face drawn on it, then it's been an ongoing joke. That's how I remember it anyway.
