Sir You are generalising. While insecticides are useful, it is equally bad if not used correctly and scientifically. Antibiotics have saved millions of lives but it's indiscriminate use is harmful. Without use of chemical fertilizers and insecticides it is not possible to produce enough foodgrains for the growing population, but its indiscriminate use will destroy the soil and water in the long run. We have seen the after effects of endosulfan. We need to learn from Israel on the correct and scientific use of fertilizers and insecticides. The agricultural experts should educate the public about the correct use of insecticides and fertilizers.
