Listened to this song after reading 3rd Nephi 11: 1-17. Such a beautiful song.

Seek him our time is running out . I’m a member but I have been lost for some time . I’m trying my best to find my way back to him. Slowly but the more I try the harder temptation gets but I know nothing in this world is more true/stronger than his atonement.plan of salvation.and his true gospel.He is the alpha and the omega he is the truth and the way and he will soon collect all his children back to him ..Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ lives and they are coming soon❤

President James E. Faust composed this song, and I think this would have included in the Church hymnbook. Everytime the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square performed this hymn, it brings so much tears in my eyes. Thank you for uploading this very quickly.

President Faust wrote the lyrics. The music was composed by Michael Moody. This rendition was arraigned by Mack Wilberg. It is stunning!

@@janicestoker305 thank you for clarifying this. I appreciate it. :) I also just knew that Jan Pinborough co-wrote the lyrics too with him!

It's not a 4 part harmony, putting it in the hymnal is the wrong place. The degree of difficulty for the average ward or stake or their choir is over our ability.
@ratman5106 Жыл бұрын
@brian brunner This arrangement is overly advanced for the average ward, but it would be easy to put in a simpler version

They heard His voice, a voice so mild It pierced them through and made their souls to quake They saw Him come, a man in white The Savior who had suffered for their sake They felt the wounds in hands and side And each could testify; This is the Christ This is the Christ, the holy Son of God Our Savior, Lord, Redeemer of mankind This is the Christ, the healer of our souls Who ransomed us with love divine I read His words, the words He prayed While bearing sorrow in Gethsemane I feel His love, the price He paid How many drops of blood were spilled for me? With saints of old in joyful cry I too can testify; This is the Christ This is the Christ, the holy Son of God Our Savior, Lord, Redeemer of mankind This is the Christ, the healer of our souls Who ransomed us with purest love divine! Who ransomed us with purest love divine

I can’t get enough of this song. Heard it several times before my husband and I attended the temple last week for the first time in 11 years. Since then, I’ve heard it in my dreams, when I first wake up and sometimes throughout the day. My heart is full of gratitude for this majestic and loving song of our Savior Jesus Christ. ❤🕊️

See the beauty of the morning Gods own son will soon be here. See the brightness in the heavens Jesus will return in glory. Praise the name of our Redeemer give glory to our God it is Christ our burdens carry my our hearts be meek and low. With a bow above his head for this is the Christ the prophets have said. He will come to heal the broken hearted that a new life might be started. Let us kneel before our risen Lord and with our voices may we sing with one accord.

I didnt get to watch Saturday sessions so maybe I was extra hungry for the spirit come Sunday, but this performance was sweet for me. I loved this performance of "This is the Christ". There have been a few times in my choir days where the spirit of what I was singing poured out in tears... and I can not think of another time that I saw Mormon Tabernacle choir members visably moved to tears. I loved this.

"This Is the Christ" was written by James E. Faust? I bet and hope they will include it in the new Hymnbook. I wonder when the new hymnbook will be made available?

Does someone know the lyrics to this hymn, it gave me goosebumps the other day? when did Elder James E. Faust compose it?
@retrogamerdave3629 ай бұрын
words by Faust, music by Michael F. Moody, who also composed the children's song "He Sent His Son" he definitely is a master of his craft, having completed his doctorate in church music at USC
