My first time launching LMU was Tuesday once the official VR beta released and just like you I’m completely addicted to LMU! It’s amazing and can’t wait to see what they bring out next, I’m hoping for historical content especially seeing as no new tracks have been added to the 2025 WEC calendar.

You've probably saved yourself a lot of angst by waiting, good decision. I agree, I'm hoping they can leverage the licence deal for retrospective seasons. That said, I'm a creature of habit, and finding the racing so intense, so don't (yet) mind the limited number of tracks. I'm hoping the new championships for LMGT3 Fixed, LMGT3 Trophy, Le Mans Endurance, and Multiclass Masters add another element to keep people entertained.

I've struggled getting LMU working nicely in VR on my 8KX/4090. It's still a long way from AC1 for me. I've had to drop my Super Scaling, FOV & Htz down lower than ideal. But, I do really like the game and though it currently feels like a step back in many ways visually, I am really enjoying it for the first time. I'm a big WEC fan & AC1 Online experience leaves a lot to be desired. If they can squeeze some more optomization in & I can find better settings I think I'll spend a lot of time in LMU. It's so close.

I feel your pain, the search for settings that work but also look good. I've continued messing since this video, this is where I'm at now: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jWnYo3iaeLKkfNE I've gone down to 16 for visible cars, which is slighlty annoying at the start of races - looking in the rear mirror to see as cars drop off the horizon. Other than that, it's a marginal improvement on where I was in this (previous) video. Will keep my fingers crossed the VR updates tomorrow bring you some performance improvements too.

What I also often use is to adjust the world scale in steam vr. Sometimes I find that vr reduces the image, it depends on the vr glasses. If I set it to 120 or 110, I have more the feeling of really seeing it in auto at true size.

Thanks. Any particular sim where you e found it works well? I tried it in ACC, but felt like I was sitting in an M8 😂. I’ll need to look into it again though, thanks for the reminder - as sitting in the Alpine in LMU felt a little claustrophobic.

​@MAWvR3ALITY It's in the settings per game, in steam vr. It's there for a reason, it works with all games. It gives me a bit more immersion.

I've been meaning to get back to my 24h of le mans save, I'm currently in the 7th hour, so I'll try your settings and see how things go. I also agree with you when you said that LMU is "amazing", its a very underrated sim, it has the best physics and ffb and surprisingly the sounds are very solid, along with the promising VR whicb i greatly enjoy. Also there is no need to run the monitor resolution doesn't need to be at 4k, that should help your performance. I agree that both rF2 and LMU look amazing when compared to real life.

Thanks, I’ll try that again. I experimented reducing it however, I wasn’t sure if I was seeing reduced quality in my captured recordings. I’ll definitely look into it again though, as it could well have been that I’d imagined a degraded output.

@@MAWvR3ALITY oh yeah i wasn't thinking about your recording. Probably best to go to 1080p or 1440p to save a bit of performance. I also don't think 8x MSAA is worth it, 4x is fine and then you could raise the resolution or other settings.

I'm also seeing micro stutters, or jitters or judders that don't appear to be related to frame drops. I'm seeing it on my Quest 3 at 72Hz, 80 and 90 and RTX4090. Don't know how to dial it out. But looks similar to frame timing issue that I've seen in AC but was corrected by a setting on Content Manager related to frame timing and interpolation

​@@MAWvR3ALITY Dialing down graphics to medium settings appear to have smoothed out and stabilized 90 FPS in Quest 3 rtx4090. Now opponents look smooth instead of jittery

Btw how are you recording your vr view in LMU? Are you using the steam vr view or direct capture?

Currently I’m using the OpenVR plugin for Streamlabs OBS, for direct video device input.

Couldn't agree with you more. AMS2 is a big step backwards once you've raced any of the other sims. Even GT7 is superior. Sorry AMS2 fan boys. But before Id spent any time in other sims I thought AMS2 was great. Unfortunately there's no going back once the mind has been expanded. I have 7 other sims that do a better job and only 24 hrs. in a day

You’re right, it’s so hard not to compare once you’ve tasted an improved experience elsewhere.
