Do badugas have caste? If baduga is unique why in few places badugas follow basava? Why few people name as gowdas in badugas??? Please enlight me.

@@devanand719 Baduga is a language. And just like a country that speaks a common language have different communities amongst themselves, Baduga also have different communities within. About Guru Basaveshwara, he was a reformer like Guru Gobind, Buddha, etc. With a philosophy of his own, so whoever liked his teachings became his followers, just like how people from different communities joined the Sikkhi Pant. There are Tamil, Tulu, Telugu gowda/lingayat/Reddy/Rao. That's just how Bharat is, nothing is absolute. It's a fabric with fascinating connections. Hope this answers some of your doubts.

@@devanand719yes some lingayats came to preach their religion just like Christians. What really happened is that they converted to badagas and started to address themselves as badagas. So the confusion. Even here too they are not pure badagas, they are lingayats badagas.

@ketankumar29034 жыл бұрын
@@sabarigowtham2987 ,The language may sound similar to Kannada but the two are different. Badaga could be an old form of Kannada (Proto Kannada), which shares the common vocabulary of both Tamil and Kannada. The hill tribes “Badagas”have very much been the natives of The Nilgiris . They could be much older than 2000 years. It could be well argued that immigrants from the plains of the Mysore kingdom have very well merged with the native Badagas and have adopted to “Badugu” ( Badugu is the language spoken by Badagas).These migrants are the lingayaths knows as (Kanakas), Wodeyas and Adikaries. This migration too was about 400-800 years back, say 12-16 century. All of them adapted to the language and the culture of the native Badagas and hence all of them were generally referred to as Badagas. There are five different Castes, they are Haruva (Brahmin),Kanaka(Lingayath),Adhigari, Badaga and Thoraya.
@ketankumar29034 жыл бұрын
@@sabarigowtham2987 ,Kannada language didn't come from Tamil honestly we can say it,because in Kannada for every sound we have unique letter,where as Tamil use same letter for two and three sounds. Kannadigas can spell perfectly any given words to them,but tamilians can't,and for this my Tamil friends said yes,it's true.
