@chanw57979 ай бұрын
Dani you've hit the nail on the head and all beautifully said. This is my take...if you want to partake in this pageant whether you fall within the category of women they mentioned or not you have to make your why bigger than just winning, make it about personal development, make about taking the exposure and pivoting that into what you want for yourself...if the MUO is going to be using women who fall into the categories mentioned as a "marketing strategy" then those women should also use the MUO. They use you then you use them right back girlie! At the end of the day this pageant just mere participation in it is already exposure and that exposure will and can bring opportunities if you leverageit correctly. Think about how girls go on the Bachelor right?...a lot of those girls don't actually care about "finding love" they just want the brand deals etc. So my take is if this is the stance the MUO is going to take then they need to pull up their straps and make this organisation and pageant relevant again outside of the pageant community so that just the mere participation in the pageant is a launching pad for any delegate...if not then they need to stop wasting women's time and get out of here with their fakeness and this is coming from a woman that since I was a little girl i dreamt of participating in the Miss Universe pageant.

This situation has the potential to cost a lot of problems for the international organisation who owns the miss universe franchise as they had accepted women who didn't have a chance to win. For me this is fraud as you are offering some things to many women that will never happen. There is a case here of breaking the law I guess it will depend on what their agreement says and perhaps organizations around the world are waiting for more evidence before taking the decision to terminate their franchise for fraud reasons. I have never been comfortable with the organization picking semifinalists as it is to all our understanding that the judges chose them, hence the revealing of the prelim rankings in the 1999s. As for Anne, we have yet to see the full context of this meeting. Are they brainstorming ideas, or this is something they will implement? When Anne said they cannot win, is she saying they will not be made winners even if the judges choose them or the judges would never pick them to begin with, as you know there are never been a restriction on weight but yet which body type participated the most and go on to win?

Lets not even talk about how this isnt fair for pageant countries who sends off their best contestants and have all other other local industries collaborate the best representation of their country and their finest women. All those effort, money, time, energy, blood sweat and tears invested to make sure that this representative will win the competition for the country they represent. Are they going to reimburse those when they are actially only deciding the winners without merit? It has become a scam. The best people (designers, stylists, sponsors) in the Philippines collaborate with their candidate mostly for free and spending their own money and skill just to make sure they bring the crown to their country. This should be illegal

I just started competing in Mrs. pageants but the bulk of my experience is in Miss. I was not sold on this because they kept saying that moms and wives were allowed to compete but did not say how they would SUPPORT a title holder who is a wife and/or mom! The needs of a single woman and a family woman are completely different and now we know why there was never an explanation given, they never plan on crowning a family woman. I'm really interested to see if wives and moms will still challenge the system and take the "be so good they have to crown you" approach.

You're absolutely spot on, it's a business first and I would almost bet my life that EVERY pageant organization has similar discussions behind closed doors. Many times it is just a matter of paying attention to who is saying and doing what leading up to a competition and the outcome. Many many pageants I and many others have witnessed and wondered "what just happened" at the outcome. It's sad, unfair and unfortunate for the contestants, their supporters and fans of pageantry how much things have changed across the board in recent years. I am hopeful this organization will recover one day, but this is a huge turn off for so many (competing in all different systems) and this video literally confirms what so many of us have speculated and had little glimpses of in our own experiences. All this furor is started by Pinoys who are convinced Michelle Dee was deliberately kept out of the top 5 spot. This is what is truly disgusting. Now I finally I understand why MMD didn't won and I am honestly grateful because it would only put her reign to waste in JKN era. Honestly, from the get go I never liked the JKN era because it just come off as superficial always. We know JKN is a businessman and the new co-owner too meaning they wouldn't put their hands on things they won't profit which is the total opposite of what Miss Universe is. JKN should just let go of MUO because since her ownership MUO was just flooded with controversies. The last MU Pageant was honestly the most chaotic and questionable pageant. TBH you don't even hear of Sheynnis in the news it was always Anne. This is honestly the worst era of Miss Universe it's like an unending nightmare. I am absolutely not surprised. For me include everyone was always a strategy for Miss Universe. Like the fact to integrate them in the top but not have the intention to make them winners. I never thought they were genuine unfortunately. Actually your experience for miss USA was also shared by miss France this year in miss Universe.

Thank you for bringing this up, Dani. It's all what we need to know. Miss Universe Organization is an organization to uplift women and not to let them fall to false hopes. The integrity of the organization is now in question and no rocket science to explain this badly affects more than just the brand but all of the countries supporting and paying for enormous franchise licenses! Unbelievable!

We NEED more EXPOSURE stories to be revealed from previous pageant contestants to show the TRUTH of such pageants. These shows if not done honestly can cause serious mental health issues and pain to women that last years! Its unfair and the pageant industry MUST change! Thank you for sharing the truth Dani ❤️ you are a real one who has overcome so much! Queen 👑

Dani I really appreciate your heart felt comments. MU or McDonald's are the same. They market to different groups differently to sell their product with DEI as the new marketing terminology. As a pageant mom, I am glad I prepared my daughter for the business side of pageants. We set goals for her and leveraged her local or state titles to get the exposure we were seeking, the practice on stage, the stage presence or speech, etc. Pageantry is good training ground for many things and as long as contestants understand at the end of the day it's business nothing personal then you go with the flow and enjoy the experience.

Even Nawat don’t go this low. He is very clear on what he wants on his pageant and who are allowed to join. Imagine wasting the contestants’ time, efforts, and money when they don’t even have a chance to win to begin with. So despicable.

Took you that long to realize it? Long before Khun Anne came on the scene, MU tends to favor contestants from certain countries and Trump and Paula handpicked contestants for the semifinals, something that have only started with Trump, which Paula carried on in the IMG era. The simple truth is, Anne got caught on video ( and even then I believe a lot of context was lost) and Paula didn’t.

This is exactly what Lupita Jones said when she learned her MU franchise hadn't been renewed back in November 2023. She said all the women competing at MU under the new guidelines just don't stand the same chance, and nobody heard. And now, with this leaked video, her words are so true and now everybody understands.

Hello, Dani! It has been a while since we greeted each other. I applaud you for speaking the truth with an empowered voice in this video about Miss USA pageantry. I wholeheartedly agree with you about this! My main concern is each contestant's mental health because they invest time in the dress, makeup, interviews, etc, to show the real themselves. But when they get a place or not, l notice their spirit has crashed because of MUA (please tell me if l am wrong) words that “contestants did place but never won,” which is terrible to express to all of us women. They don't know what it feels like to have mental health issues like anxiety, depression, etc. It can destroy confidence, beauty, spirit, and personality quickly. I don't want those contestants to have that experience like l did. That is the reason why I stopped pageantry. I mean, where is the uplifting, support, respect, and integrity system for this pageantry? I want to see all women crown each other like we are all true Queens no matter what. That is a true empowerment and a strongly defined role of women for everyone. ❤

This is very disheartening. I competed in 2013 for a Miss USA state pageant and when I walked into the room for my official interview, the judges told me "they would NEVER pick someone with an accent." I wish someone would have told me that before entering the pageant and spending so much money into the competition.

Never have I felt so icky and upset. I have been watching Miss Universe since I was a child and it became a serious interest of mine for the past 10 years. I have spent so much time thinking watching and analysing videos of various the national pageants and the pageant itself as I always saw it as a sport. I knew there were certain types of biasness and a possibly a push for inclusitivity. But this is just pure rigging and exploitation. It hurts because I genuinely believe they were embracing diversity. This has completely ruined it for me. Hope she steps down soon. Incredibly disappointed.
