Gosh I miss the IMG era... So many people were complaining because wasn't as "grand" as Trump era but IMG constantly focused on the women and their achievement, power, and advocacies. They chose the well-spoken leaders (with excellent performances) as their winners which was very satisfying as a modern pageant fan. They raised the bar for pageantry to adapt to a progressive world that made sure the women were seen as much more than their physical beauty. That's all being undone now by these clowns.

Don't be over sensitive if some of these organizations if they prefer beauty standard as blond and blue eyes not all organization prefer that way anyway and even so they have the right to like it that way. Coz me personally if i have to make my own pageant i have my own preference and it may vary from time to time too. I feel similarly about MUO as I do about Disney. While they are each ONE business(Disney now also being one of the "big 6" major media conglomerates) owned by specific owners and or shareholders, the legacy they have built and the impact they have had and can continue to have on our society, our ideals, representation and so many other aspects of our society are incredibly vast. The positions they have placed themselves in and then in turn where the public has accepted them as for decades are positions in which I believe there is a unique social responsibility to uphold. In any business there is "business" and owners are free to run their business as they so choose but in being wise in running one's businesses it should not be forgotten that business ethics matter and in fact do eventually affect your bottom line. It does matter. Trust with your audience and customer base matters and in this case the legacy of what the decades of women, and not just the winners each cycle, but throughout all the levels and countries of MUO matters. So I hope with whatever statements are being made the thought of am I empowering women, women of all backgrounds from around the world...the universe rather, with my words and am I being a force of unity remain as top priorities in the future direction of the organization.

I received so much harassment about it, but what I said was I knew once they crowned her it said something about our global social political culture currently. I knew once they crowned her it was going to get weird. I didn't expect the organizations owners itself to confirm these thoughts, that really saddens me. You’ve got a point, Dani. My lifelong dream was Miss Universe but there’s no point in going there if it’s not what it used to be or if it has an awful reputation. It’s a shame because the actions of the owners will also tarnish the reputation of the queens who win. Victoria is a stunning girl, I just wish they could have spoken about her striking features without putting down other women, including trans women.

Anne has really been dropping the ball lately, which is disappointing because I was optimistic when she took over. If only the organization focused on putting on a good show and emphasizing MU as an ambassador of goodwill instead of all this petty nonsense. Miss Universe has been the gold standard of pageantry for decades and it’s sad that it’s been devolving. Dani, thank you for this video and I hope someone with your mindset takes over the org and brings it back to its charitable, glamorous roots.

If that’s the pinnacle in her opinion, then they would’ve won right? Evolution, is men In women’s sport, a black woman playing Queen Elizabeth, in a British theater, or a blonde haired blue eyed woman, as Miss Universe. So, that was an insult, not a compliment. Dear Dani. I’m so sorry to hear how sad you are. I am very sad too. Since the crowning not only have I been aware of all you covered in this video. But there are subtleties I am picking up on that truly make me sick in the pit of my stomach. The focus on not only the new miss universe but most coverage shows the three of them together all the time. The two owners and miss Universe. And it’s weird. So weird. I knew the minute they announced the price package midway through the pageant that Denmark was going to win. It finally all made sense. She was the focus of most of the coverage leading up to the pageant. And my first thought was that if they are doing a reality travel show. They would likely choose blonde hair blue eyes young and smiley. So not a surprise to me when she won. I at first was ok and trying to rejoice with her win. However I’m used to a very professional pageant winner. And also I actually am concerned for her welfare. I hesitate to say this out loud. But I am concerned for her. And it certainly is a total change in the direction of the winner who normally promotes her platform to now selling products and tourism. Very hard for me to see this. I have more concerns but I don’t want to make myself a target by sharing them. But I am quite concerned and never have felt that way until this new leadership and owners.
