Great video, thank you! Your experience and passion really comes through. I would much rather watch a video from a relatable guy who looks like he’s ready for a Sunday with the family than watch some dull corporate video. I’m happy to subscribe and will definitely using your channel to help me develop as a new leader! My first event is today and after watching this I’m pretty sure there’s going to be a lot of room for improvement. Thanks again and I appreciate you taking the time to make these videos!

Thank you! Really appreciate the positive words..Keeps me motivated to keep making these. Most of these videos take a few hours to put together and don't get many views so it's good to hear that folks are getting some value from them! Good luck on your event! The good news is: You'll get better with each event! 😊

Chad, thank you so much for this video and your channel! I stumbled across it looking for additional resources on leading a Kaizen event. I'm leading my first ever, and virtual at that, Kaizen event in a couple of weeks. Your best practices are so helpful! I took a bunch of notes, and feel more confident in kicking off my event! I can't wait to check out your other videos and courses! Best wishes to you and yours. Be well! -Sarah

Sarah Waugh thank you for the awesome feedback. I’ve delivered quite a few virtual Kaizen events and while challenging can also be incredibly effective. I sincerely appreciate your support on this channel! It takes a bit of time to put these together and most of my videos don’t get that many views so it’s always nice when someone sees the value and lets me know...appreciate the LinkedIn connection as well....good luck! Let me know how it goes.

Chad can you make a video discussing the Kaizen blitz and how that differs from the Kaizen burst
@learnkaizen4 жыл бұрын
Yes...will do...I have another video about "Reasons Kaizens Events fail" next Tuesday but I'll record one on the Kaizen Blitz and Event (plus triggers for Kaizen and RCA) the week after....can it wait a couple of weeks? Appreciate your support and hope you’re doing well!

@@learnkaizen i'm looking. but dit you ever did a video on this?
@learnkaizen Жыл бұрын
@@rctimmers a Kaizen Burst is just the indication of an event needed on the value stream. Blitz and Events are typically used interchangeably however I use them differently to build a kaizen culture. • Kaizen Just do it are for anyone with basic knowledge of improving (generally 5S) • Blitz: 3-day event for people who have gained an understanding of improving through kaizen. These folks are interested in learning more about Kaizen and a 3-day blitz will expose them to the Kaizen format and give them some experience facilitating. • Kaizen event: 5-day event for folks who have a facilitated coupe of Kaizen Blitz’s and ready for the full 5 day Kaizen. This is just my strategy for easing people into Kaizen. Hope this helps.

Working on my Green Belt now. Do companies ever hire people as a consultant who have a green belt or does that happen at Black Belt & Master Black Belt levels?
@learnkaizen3 жыл бұрын
I think more at the BB and MBB levels…but even at those levels, companies want experienced professionals that can apply the tools and concepts. I don’t know how these “ consulting” firms hire folks right out of college as a consultant….there’s no way they know enough to actually help a business. I watch another KZbin channel that’s all about consulting at top firms. He said as a young consultant- you have to fake it until you make it….meanwhile- companies are shelling out big dollars and seeing very little return on their dollar.

Do you find that most people don't have 3-5 days and that the Kaizen Blitz becomes the "go-to" approach?
@learnkaizen2 жыл бұрын
When this happens - it’s the behaviors and mentality that “everything is a fire”…the leaders need to establish the behaviors…if the leaders are the ones driving these behaviors, the leadership needs to understand the purpose of Kaizen….if most people do t have 3-5 days, there is an issue. From my experience, most people can’t even define their problem correctly - 3 days to get to the root cause of a problem and implement a corrective action /countermeasure is pretty solid..at least in automotive and aerospace.
