How many of you hear the words "Lean" or "Six Sigma" and think it is only for executives and project managers? Lean Six Sigma is an adaptation of these principles that is blended just for IT. I'll take you through some basics and then we'll pick something to try the process on together. Think of something that takes too long. Or something that is too painful. Or convoluted. The main condition is it must be something that your team does that the company needs. The results might surprise you!
This is going to be a lot of information in one session, so if by chance we don't get to the documentation part of it, we'll see about covering it in a subsequent meeting.
Speaker: Pamela Mooney
Pamela Mooney is the Data Services Manager with NISA Investment Advisors, LLC.
The road to IT was a long and winding one for me, but I fell in love with SQL Server and knew that I wanted to be a DBA after my first database class in college. I was fortunate enough to be hired in as a Junior DBA straight out of school, and I have never looked back. I now lead a team of DBAs, and it is a pleasure to work with them, and to learn with (and from!) them. A one-time, part-time professional musician and songwriter, I have a medical background and am a passionate history nerd. In my spare time, I like to hike, bike, read, write, and talk to you.
