Loved L'agence! Thank you, Geraldine! With fast, spoken French I guess it helps to listen very closely. I like what you had to say about putting it into context . The focus en famille is really fun and an inside look into French culture I don't think I would have had. Merci!!

Love the show, I noticed that they use the verb exciter the way they recommend not to use it:like we use the verb excite in English, even the father uses it. Je suit excite de faire visiter cet apartment place des Vosges (Martin). They use it very often maybe the influence of English.

I subscribe with pleasure. My question is whether you adjust your speaking knowing how Americans know the rules, but have trouble without them. If I speak to a foreigner here in DC, I can use language they will know, and avoid slang. I remember one trip to France when I asked "Avez- vous une plume pour ecriver." they mocked me, and I later realized, ( I think) they knew full well there was a time "stylo" was not used. In any case, my love affair with your country and language have sustained me throughout our Pandemic, and I look forward to visiting France, again, armed with your lessons on current spoken French.

I find it so obnoxious how English speakers act outraged because they can't understand spoken French, and have trouble with the slang and change in word order. As if a language should somehow contain itself in deference for it's English speaking learners and consumers. Language is organic and changing to reflect the needs, wants, tendancies of their communities!
