What's weird is that I did it for the first time with no hesitation and I had a broken back... I wasn't scared and it was easy as heck. But back flip? Yikes. That’s what gave me a broken back!!!

These 5 minute skill videos are great, they've helped me a lot. Most of the people teaching gymnastics skills on youtube are girls aged 8-13, and I don't find their videos very helpful; their bodies are bendy in ways that adult bodies past a certain age just aren't, and they tailor their tutorials to bodies like theirs. Your videos are realistic and helpful for adult learners.

@kenzieandpip68395 жыл бұрын
Your legs need to travel over your head quicker and if you’re undercutting your hands (like this guy is, this is an awful tutorial), you will not have the momentum. A front handspring needs to be long, not on the spot. Have a long hurdle step, reach for the ground far out in front of you (your body should be a straight line from your hips to the tips of your fingers meaning your arms should be up by your ears), pop through your shoulders while quickly bringing your legs over the top of your body. Try to keep them as straight as possible. It’s easiest to learn on a trampoline. Hope that helps even though this is an old comment.

The easiest was to do an Ariel is perfect a cartwheel and then switch to a one handed cartwheel. Then run before doing your one hander and right before you would put your hand on the group grab your shirt collar. Starting on a trampoline helps too

To become flexible start stretching everyday then I would try to do a bridge (a backbend from the floor) before you try this because it is simpler than this and requries about the same amount of flexibility. Also, this might help you lose a little weight witch might help a little also you will need body strength so I would recommend doing like 10 pushups, 10 sit-ups and 10 crunches everyday (gradually increasing the amount) as well as streching everyday will give you strength and will, again help you lose a little weight witch will also help.

Maybe you screwed up placement a bit? With the amount of momentum from the run up + hurdle you cant really sprain your arm since the whole trick takes only 3 seconds to do, unless you didnt have enough momentum, then it makes sense.. how did you sprain it? A small amount of back flexibility will help and make it easier. Also if you have like a trampoline or whatever they’re great to practice. Personally I find it easier to run before going into as you will get more momentum and power to push yourself over
@garytitus14956 жыл бұрын
I learned this when I was 18. Practice in the grass alot. Took me many hours of practice each day. The "key" to doing this is the amount of force you use to push off the ground with your hands. If you can master that, get over your fear, and master the skip before you push off with your hands you will get this. I am 45 years old and can do this with ease even in a parking lot. Dont try that until you have it down pat in the grass.
