10/13/2022 (Day 1): I am 19, 5'7"(170cm), 125lbs(57kg), and a body-fat percentage around 12-13%` I can bench 150lbs (68kg), squat 175lbs (80kg), and deadlift 190lbs (86kg). I go to the gym on a structured workout plan 3-4 times a week. I will be trying each step 5 mins every day while recording my best attempts. 🚩 STAGE 1: Frog-stand (2:06). Goal: 60 seconds. 🔵 Day 1 : 🐸 23s pr! Getting tired after 5 mins :/ 🔵 Day 2 : 🐸 53s pr!!!! Found my balance but holding it was very hard... (🔸The key is accepting that you may fall on your face/fall forward, notice how often you fall on your feet.) 🔵 Day 3 : 🐸 62s pr!! I got my record on my second try while feeling in control the whole time, time for Stage 3. 🚩 STAGE 2: Wall handstand with heavy reliance (2:50). I'm alternating jumping legs for muscle imbalance. Goal: 60 seconds 🔵 Day 3 : 🐸 62s, 🚪5s, whenever I push off the wall, I can’t seem to balance myself. 🔵 Day 4 : 🐸 N/A,🚪35s, I’m losing feeling in my left leg during 🐸, so I’ll stop until I can figure it out. (🔸I found out that the numbing feeling was the result of cutting off blood circulation into my leg since my veins would be pinched by the normal 🐸, I’m now changing the position by having my legs inside my arms.) 🔵 Day 5 : 🐸 5s,🚪65s, moving on to Stage 3 since I can easily hold myself upside down while occasionally pushing off. 🚩 STAGE 3: Slight (a majority of assisted handstand is unsupported) wall support (3:10). Goal: 60 seconds 🔵 Day 5 : 🐸 5s,🚪65s, 🩼 14s, testing out a few leg positions that can help my center of gravity. 🔵 Day 6 : Stomach pains, can’t hold any of the exercises for more than a few seconds. (🔸Day 6-Day 24, Got a slew of aliments, sickness, or injuries/strains, cannot perform practices.) 🔵 Day 24 : 🐸 23s!, 🚪28s, 🩼 12s, my wrist pains (from esports) won’t go away, but I will continue regardless, randomly doing the frog pose throughout the day has made me really good at them. (🔸 I think randomly doing the exercises through the day helps build your balance faster than doing it in 5min chunks every day-I will test this) 12/17/2022: Randomly attempting handstands in tandem with the gym has provided enough control to begin raising my legs into the air without assistance from a still position. I have concluded that sheer strength can supplement the needed balance. (🔸 If you have enough RELATIVE strength, you can learn to balance yourself by doing a handstand on your forearms, granted it’d be a forearm stand.) 2/7/2023: 🐸 27s, 🚪36s, I found some merit in having a large arc in my back and leaving my legs in a deadhang, will report its effectivity. 🚩 STAGE 4: Handstand with spread hands and legs without wall assistance (4:42). Goal: 60 seconds 🚩 STAGE 5: Handstand in proper form

The thing that takes time with a handstand is not getting up. You could probably learn that in a matter of minutes to hours depending on your coordination. The thing that takes long is getting you vestibular sense (balance sense) used to being upside down and which muscles to activate in order to keep the balance. I have been teaching gymnastics for 15 years. But I usually say that it will take a year to go from novice to good if you just practice a couple of minutes each day.

@@tonyperez4713 sorry that this is a bit late but training your shoulders and triceps (all 3 heads for both) should help, for triceps train them regularly/intensely but shoulders can be trained far more often than any other muscle group (even 1-2 times a day is alright for the shoulders)

A few years ago I won a bet where I did 10 handstand pushups (on the wall) without any experience. After that I started training my handstand and could hold it for a decent time, but ended up stopping after I moved. Now I can't even do 1 pushup against the wall... it's fun learning this again though
@youwantmyname92083 жыл бұрын
For me, the hardest part is changing your mentality. I love calisthenics and I consider myself as beginniner. I could do 10 second L sit and 15 second tuck planche but can't even do handstand, a more simple skill than the skills that I learn. It's because when I first try handstand, I overbalanced and broke my damn waist. Therefore, I develop a fear from it. Then when I first started handstand after 5-6 months of not doing it anymore, I could balance myself almost instantly. It changes my entire perspective on bodyweight. Just detect that sweet balance spot, then you're good to go. I also develop a way to fall safely in case I overbalance or underbalance Update: I could do 6 seconds handstand that took me 5 months to learn. No exaggeration, honest accurate counting from 0. This is probably because our muscle is learning that we are being upside down. I got that technique, but can't really perform it before. So the title is kind of a clickbait
@broken25502 жыл бұрын
Some people can do it instantly and others take longer in your case so it may vary
@russelsestoso90162 жыл бұрын
LEARNING is different from MASTERING, if you can atleast hold like a second or half a second then boom you learned it, and this is the time where it takes too long the, MASTERING part.
@BadassBobY2 жыл бұрын
yeah, as you said, you could do 10 second l sit and 15 second tuck planche. I personally could do 15-20 second l sits and 20-30 seconds tuck planche, literally took me 10 days to go from complete 0 to a 10 second hold. Currently trying to get a double arm strict muscle up, a couple of handstand push ups and bent arm straddle planche, once I achieve that, I guess I'll get to intermediate calisthenics athlete level.
@reignshade23882 жыл бұрын
@pigmie @@broken2550 I can do hand stands, in fact i find them trivial, i can even do hops, but I struggle to find the sweet spot, so instead I just relied in a quick sense of brute strength to maintain it for as long as possible, I was capped at around 11 seconds maximum, this video showed me what I was doing wrong and even helped me learn air-flares which just worked amazingly, weirdly enough majority of my break set is learnt from these videos, I've been doing calisthenics for about 2 years, and when I saw this channel pop-up it helped with both exercise and my breaking

(🔸Tip: Focus on fingertips to balance yourself. I know its mentioned in this video but you will forget it when doing it by yourself.) 🔵day 12-14 :🐸 41 sec max (🔸I have become pretty good at balancing. Now, its all about strength in my arms to hold this position longer. So that's why I think its time for Stage 2) 🚩 STAGE 2 : My goal is to touch wall with my foot(2:50). I will be doing this jump(exercise) on both legs by reversing their roles to prevent any muscle imbalances. Also, I will be doing frogtsand for 2-3 times. 🔵day 15 : 🐸 51 sec max. 30 jumps(15 each leg) (🔸I am nowhere near to touch wall with my feet. After jumping, my legs can't even stay for one second in air. I think this stage is going to take ALOT of time.) 🔵day 16-21 : 🐸 57 sec max (🔸Still can't touch wall, its really hard bcoz of FEAR of falling. My brain isn't letting me swing my leg and jump at its full potential.) 🔵day 20-26 :🐸 65 sec!! finally over a minute (🔸I can feel little improvement at jumping.) 🔵day 27-29 : skipped (🔸Back pain after lifting heavy furniture.) 🔵day 30-31 :🐸 50 sec hold (🔸This is getting boring.) 🔵day 32-38 :🐸 70 sec hooo!! 🔵day 39-55 : skipped (🔸Lack of interest. I think I can't do it.) 🔵day 56- 60 :🐸46 sec max after skipping 140 days... Current weight: 71kg 🔵day 61 : 🐸 45 sec 🔵day 62 : 🐸 62 sec (🔸After jumping, the moment when my legs are almost perpendicular to ground and all bodyweight is on my wrists and palms.. thats the scary part.. which is the most difficult one and it will take some time to overcome it.) 🔵day 63-64 : 🐸 48 sec 🟡 I have found that my hamstrings, glutes, groin, abductors.. all these muscle are really tight which could be responsible for my bad progress. From now on, I will be focusing mainly on streching these muscles and increasing my flexibility. After that, I will switch my focus to Handstand. I will keep updating my progress once a week. 🚩 *STAGE 3: Now(**3:10**), I will balance myself by using wall as support. Goal: 60 seconds* 🚩 *STAGE 4: Now(**4:42**), doing without wall with both legs and hands spread. Goal: maybe 30 seconds* 🚩 *STAGE 5: Finally, trying to do Handstand in proper form.*

Hey Guys for step 4, one thing that has helped me immensely is, going in from a cartwheel. I mean then you have to balance differently but once you find the sweet spot (uhh yea soo guudd), it will be way easier. Should you then loose balence you can finish the cartwheel swing. Hope this helps Peace and love out to yall! :)
