(This is how I learned it) Stack a bunch of pillows on top of a soft surface and just fall back and place your hands on the ground and flip over. Then, progress yourself to just jump into that. Once you have that, attempt a backhandpsring on the pillows. Once you record yourself and see you don’t use the stacked pillows, keep removing them until you just do it on a soft surface. Btw I know your comment was posted 4 years ago but if you don’t still have it you can use that method and anybody else reading this comment.

Thank you! I'm a beginning gymnast, officially. I taught myself a lot as a kid and now im stoked on giving it another go. I already had one class, next is tomorrow. Your techniques are very specific, so I caught on and practiced the postures. Hoping my buddy will help me out by spotting me tomorrow

Distance doesn't equal power lol. (but it does allow longer acceleration which increases force which increases power). It's directly proportional

He makes it seem really complex. Most of this comes naturally especially if you've done gymnastics or something like it before. If you're really scared then try it on the trampoline or on a mat or mattress so you have a soft landing :) Good luck!

This is a great tutorial. I have my back handspring, but, with being a cheer leader, the learning got rushed so I didn't get the correct form. I can do them fine, they just don't look good and the technique is horrible. I think this tutorial really explains what I'm doing wrong so well, and it will probably help a lot. Thank you!

Wes Tavares The one inch punch a concept taught in wing chun/jeet kune do states that you generate more power up close for example a bullet fired from a gun generates more power than a arrow fired from a bow because of economy of motion ;i pretty sure there is more to it but that is a general gist of the concept.

What are these type of gyms called? With the blue spring floors? I dont know what to search to try and find one in my area :s
@kr0vax12 жыл бұрын
Technically, from classical physics, power = force/time. Distance is actually equal to a number of things, but power alone isn't one of them. Work=force x distance thus distance = work/force, for example. The phenomenon you're explaining I believe is related to force. Since force=mass x acceleration the greater distance allows for a greater acceleration, which means more force. Physics, I learned it! still can't do a back-handspring though. . .

Do it in a trampoline if you're scared, you'll get extra height and even if you land on your head it won't hurt as bad because the trampoline will absorb all the impact and your head won't.
