Before buying this product, note that the Provided instructions do not indicate how to install the product. They are just drawings of the products. I would not have purchased this product had I known the state of the instructions.

Agreed. I'm looking for instructions on how those ports in the wall are mounted in the first place, as the Grohe thermostat appears to use them as mounting points and the instructions assume you're replacing an existing fitting, whereas other brands attach to exposed copper spigots and fasten to the wall with screws.

@@AintBigAintClever I had my wall open and installed drop ear elbows. Screwed the brass extenders into the drop ear elbows. The S connectors then screwed into the brass extenders.
