I learned how to tie them a little over a year and a half ago, and the thing that broke through the wall was when I realized that it was just a modified shoe tying knot. None of the videos I had watched said anything about that and I was very glad to see you mention it here in your video. I think I will now be recommending this video to my friends who ask me where to learn to tie bow-ties.

Best tutorial I saw. You should make a small comment about the best time of shirt collar to choose when wearing a bow tye as well as about the way it should cover the collar button ( few people use a tye or a bow smartly).

I watched every video on how to tie a bow tie and only got more confused and kept fumbling with my bow tie and then all of a sudden I watched this video here and bam! I tied a bow tie almost perfectly on my first attempt! I think women are just better at explaining things LOL!

Great Video. I now am a successful bow tie tier on my birthday. I had tried a few other videos, but I did best with this one. I had to analyze the motions step by step...i.e. pushing the shorter loop in the same direction that the long end is extended over the shoulder. Then holding that shorter loop somewhat awkwardly with the hand away from where it was pushed. Then pushing the longer side through a mysterious hole that I do not understand so far. The two sides get mashed together and I see that either side can come out on top. Variety spices things up!! Then pulling on the doubled over ends of the bow to tighten. I think she does not go into the adjustment process. You go back and forth between pulling on both the doubled over sides to tighten and the single ends to adjust. I recommend learning this ...learn a new thing and have a great feeling of accomplishment to attain an elite skill!!!
