You should have a longer mono leader than 6 foot if you are using spectra trolling a Madmac. I have at least 20-30 feet of mono for the extra shock absorption. The Madmac lures are under a heavy load when trolling at 15+ knots. Your drag settings also have to be high in order to keep the lure from dragging in the water, so you need that extra shock absorption when the fish hits the lure at high speeds. Some people have problem with breaking off using fluorocarbon because it has less stretch.
