I have a question. So in a american english, caught or law and not or hot are pronounced differently? I thought those are pronounced with the same vowel sounds or more like Aa sounds as in water (my reference is I use a Cambridge dictionary for pronunciations)
@SpeechModification

Hi, there are parts of the US were the caught and not vowels have merged, and are basically just the /ɑ/ vowel. The vowel in water is a great example of the merged vowel. I talk about this in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e3-tpYp7prKlbM0

@@SpeechModification thank you so much teacher. That video (I already watched the video with link you shared) and this video are so great. I think I get it now and it's kind of clear my confusion as well regarding these vowel sounds... I think I'm starting to get it. So, Can I say words like alright, call, tall, salty, all, small.. have the same vowel sounds as in law as well? And in addition do you think Californians pronounce those words with "aw" sounds as in law as well? I'm sorry if I bother with these questions beforehand.

Hi, it's no bother. Yes, words with "all" have the "aw" vowel, and I think that's pretty typical for West coast/California accents. @@callmez55
