Hi Jamie. I love your videos and your patience to help your viewers learn guitar. So easy to follow. I am a recent subscriber and a new beginner in my early 70s. I have started to learn a few chords with your awesome videos, and would love to learn one of my favorite songs. May I request, can you please do a short video for beginners (easy strum pattern & chords) for the country western song: “I’d Choose You Again” by the Forester Sisters. I would so appreciate it. Thank you. Jolyn 😊

Thank you so very much for posting your videos. When I got my guitar for my 60th birthday I took two beginner courses at the local college and didn't get it, I didn't like or know the western songs that was part of the course. So forget that then I've been searching and searching utube for help but again still couldn't grasp it but now I believe I have hit the jackpot with your videos. I have been struggling for 5 long years and could never put two chords together never mind a song and my family roars in laughter with every attempt. SO of course I would tuck my guitar under my bed and forget about it...... but every now and then I find a utube site and think yes they can show me but nope failure.... still couldn't put two notes together, never mind strumming patterns at the same time. THEN I found you last week and I have been able to do G and C with a strumming pattern and the light went on for me. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!!

Jamie, after reading the lyrics, I'd guess this song is about a musian on the road (Jn D wrote it). But I was led to believe it was an anti-Vietnam war song (PP&M fit this era), do you know? Btw, I determined to learn this song, it will be my first. I tried learning when I was 15, didn't last long, then again in high school guitar class. Eventually gave my guitar to a friend who just gave it back after 30 yrs. I'm 57. I always thought some people have it and others don't. But that's not true, it's all musle memory. It's going to happen no matter what. Cheers!
@JamieAndersonMusic2 жыл бұрын
Glad you're working on it! It's a great song for beginners since it doesn't have a lot of chords and there's one measure (one strum pattern) for each. As for the background -- I never heard it was an anti-war song, just one that John Denver wrote about the pain of always having to leave. At the time, there was no romantic interest at home. I always go to Songfacts when I want to know the story of a song: www.songfacts.com/facts/peter-paul-and-mary/leaving-on-a-jet-plane

Hi Jamie, always a pleasure to watch your lessons ans hear you singing. I am an “old” beginner (3 month) with still some problems with chord changes. Especially the change to the C chord makes still problems. It’s not the grip as this but to get the fingers down simultaneously. Now I saw in your video something special as you have your pinky close or above your ringfinger. Is this just accidentally our by special training in your beginning? And do you have a tip or training to get the fingers down simultaneously. Thank you so much for your kind answer. Greetings Charly
@JamieAndersonMusic4 жыл бұрын
Charly, if you slow down the video you'll see that I don't put all the fingers down at the same time, it's just that I do it faster than you. It does help to think of the chord shape as you make it. Practice the change over and over again. I'm not using my pinky in that chord so that's how I keep it out of the way. You can keep it out of the way in whatever way works for you.
