Hi, welcome to ShuoshuoChinese 说说中文; my name is Shuo, I’m a native Chinese teacher living in Bangkok, Thailand, I’ve been teaching Chinese as a foreign language for seven years and I’m also a language learner.
In this channel, I will upload a weekly video, in which I talk about Chinese vocabulary, Chinese grammar, Chinese culture, Chinese stories with pinyin and the English translation for listening practice.
With my channel, you can easily start to learn and understand complicated Chinese grammar, sentence structure, and differences/nuances between similar Chinese words.
If you are a Chinese beginner, I’m planning to upload videos about what Chinese language is, how it differs from English, Chinese pronunciations, Chinese characters and Chinese stroke sequences and a mini Chinese course, (10 minutes per day), which can help you learn quickly and easily. Don’t miss it!
So, subscribe to my channel and start your Chinese learning journey!

Very true. One more thing to add is this emoji: 🙂。Young Chinese folks use it to mean something like: “this is so stupid that I have nothing to say but give you a polite smile”. Every time I see my American friends send me this I had to take second to remind me of the fact that they are not Chinese and reinterpreted this emoji the way it was supposed to be interpreted lmao
@honghaohuang8766
@honghaohuang8766 4 жыл бұрын
Instead, we use 😂 or 🤣。The former is commonly used in situation where your friend tells you about things that frustrates them but more in a jokingly way, such as how stupid their bosses has been. If they tell you their grandparent has passed away, use cry emoji or something more serious. The latter is just literally lmao.

If anything, I would expect Russians to drink hot water. It gets pretty chilly up there. I remember when I was a kid growing up in England, I'd always ask my mum for hot water to drink during the winter. Although, this wasn't really normal behaviour. Most people don't drink hot water in England... Englishmen usually drink tea instead. Still, helped me out when it was cold when I was a kid.

People hate 在吗 more because they don't know what the other person is asking, and the only way you can answer is 在. And then you have to face what the other person wants, sometimes inappropriate for your relationship. And sometimes it's difficult to tell them the real reason behind the rejection. You don't have a way to dodge the situation like pretending you didn't see the message.
@Forestier1
@Forestier1 4 жыл бұрын
Actually, the English grammar is “How (not) to piss off your Chinese friends “ thus avoiding the split infinitive of the verb. The expression “piss off” is really unpleasant and not really something used in polite society or in an educational or business context. Better to say “how (not) to irritate your Chinese friends”.

I knew the hot water one, as it came up in my learning once, and I asked online, and this was all explained to me! haha - so I found this part very funny as I knew the meaning behind it.
