I love this demonstration but, your object balls and cue balls are always in line with a diamond. So, it's easy to find the zero spot. What if the object ball is between diamonds? Is the next diamond up from the OB a half or a one? Could you demonstrate with a video?
@WpnsCo2013OEF2 жыл бұрын
Get the angle then parallel shift over the cue.
@cpakkala2 жыл бұрын
@@WpnsCo2013OEF actually it should be a two-to-one shift (the butt of your cue moves twice as far as the tip) not a parallel shift.
@restoreasurface2809 Жыл бұрын
I think, , if the "0" point is half way between the diamonds, then the "1" point Is a full diamond up from there, and so on. So, the "2" opposite of the "1" would also be in line, so half way between 2 diamonds. Then the "4" would be a full diamond away, and so on. That way the values would remain double, and the rail positions the same. Basically, wherever "0" falls, everything shifts up equally spaced a full diamond away.

@@james3339 yea he's hitting center ball which has top spin... Which still reverses off the rail combined with the camera angle it looks like running English but it's not.. go shoot a center ball and tell me how the cue ball rolls... He's not shooting a stop shot into the rail with no spin it would shorten the angle..
@james33393 жыл бұрын
@@dnewbi3521 at the pace he’s hitting the ball, it would have very little draw effect. My point was more about the camera and field of vision. The rail closest to the camera looks much longer than it actually is. Looking at it with this camera angle makes it appear as though he’s striking the rail much closer to the side pocket as opposed to where he is actually striking the rail -the second diamond.

I understand most of the counting system when balls are on rails, but when they are in the middle of the table as in 5:44, I cannot understand how you figure the zero point is at the first diamond when the object balls are midway between the first and second diamond. Can you please explain this as it is glossed over and not obvious (at least to me).
@poolteacher3 жыл бұрын
You draw a line from the contact point on the first rail to the contact point on the second. Your ball in the middle has to be sitting on that line.

@joerobertson78873 жыл бұрын
Great info but your camera angle on the foreground makes it really hard to work the diamonds...might want to pull back the camera so it's not so close to the rail in the foreground. Don't mean to nit pik because your videos are great. I'm going to try your 2 rail kick system out tomorrow!!!!!

@bobhenson14332 жыл бұрын
I’ve liked and understood everything you have put out, except this one. Why not stay with the basic 2:1 system that darn near everyone uses, and for a reason - simplicity.
@davidparker7813 жыл бұрын
Why not just divide the opposite side by 2 rather than multiply by 2? I.e., if my cue ball is 4 spots from the object ball, take half, leaving 2. That’s the contact point on the opposite rail.
@poolteacher3 жыл бұрын
Great question. The reason is you get into more complicated division the other way. Especially startling at 3/4 of a diamond etc. My way you just see it n shoot with the math I want to use.. Much simpler to use during actual play

I am a BCA instructor. What are you confused about?
@poolteacher3 жыл бұрын
In my opinion this is a much simpler way. You just find zero and make your side of the table equal to the opposite. No addition or subtraction. You just make both sides equal and shoot. This system takes into account you have a basic understanding of the diamond system. It's a no english system. The other systems I have seen are much much more complicated. They require drawing lines to the side pockets and crossing the lines to find the rial point. This one is pretty much straight forward. Not which system you have seen but the others aren't very simple at all. Also, there is really no such thing as the BCA Instructor Program anymore. The new BCA Program is called the PBIA.

It's literally so basic idk if it even has a name... all you do is just count where you are, and half it to where you wanna go... who the heck can't cut a number in half? ...doubling the other side just complicates it unnecessarily. I have watched several of your videos and I really do think you have some decent insight here & there, but this one is just a no go (for me personally) ...but anybody genuinely advocating this beautiful game is cool with me.

Question: How do you estimate the angle from the cue ball, once you locate zero?
@poolteacher3 жыл бұрын
@@jubilee4jC You count the diamonds from the point you want to hit. Then you make the other side double. You always strike the number on the rail that you are equal to with the cue ball. To answer your question, I just eye angle in - angle out, I just use a best guess until I can equal it out. Hope that helps.
