A guy that you forgot to mention is 3kliksphilip, he's an absolutely great content creator in general, not TF2 specifficaly but overall amazing dude with tutorials that are so good the mapping scene back in the day literally despised him for creating an "inflation of maps" because of how many new (and terrible) map makers he made.
@npc_blob16095 жыл бұрын
I think it was moreso because of the fact he taught bad habits, like sealing your map with a hollowed cube, when that's what the Cordon tool's for. But yeah, I have to recommend him for teaching about stuff like water and displacements in a quick, no-nonsense manner.

I actually started mapping a while back, but have level design experience in general so it was a lot easier for me to get into it than others. I'm currently working on a koth map because to be honest some of the koth maps suck in my opinion. I joined a game once as soldier and nuked the enemy team and went 35:1 in a single game, so I'll be sure to avoid that at all costs lol. and to all newbies out there, your first map will 100% suck. Mine did, and I have experience in the field so don't give up the moment you pick up hammer. EDIT: HOW PRETENTIOUS COULD A TEENAGE ME BE??

I dont have experience in hammer yet but eventually I want to go overboard with a map design here's the very long paragraph I wrote about it . I have an idea for a tf2 map. It's a push the cart or whatever you call it and it's called Bombsite. Plot: both teams have circle bases with a plate to push the cart onto in the middle. The cart is NOT a bomb it's rather a radar the radar is being tracked by bombers and if the radar reaches the plate it will stop and emit a red light. Following the red light three random people on both teams will be set into a plane with only one thing they can control, dropping the bomb(s) they can either drop it too early and miss or hit the enemies base, but if they hit their own base they will automatically lose, and the round restarts. If 2 of them hit the enemy's base, they will win automatically. While that is happening the two teams are given a chance to destroy the radars, if a radar is destroyed it can be rebuilt by your team finding 3 pieces around the map, if the radar is destroyed the people flying the planes will respawn back at their base.

Regardless, it’s always nice to see youtubers bring up little bits of trivia like that, I’m a *huge* fan of forge; it allows you to make maps that aren’t always meant for competitive play.
