Battle of Kuban is easily the best one out of the three right now. You're missing out on a gorgeous map and some cool aircraft to boot!

What makes the G-4 notably different than the G-2? I take it its mostly just the engine difference and capability to use emergency power again, like the F-4 prior to the G-2? Anything else different with it? Absolutely love your videos, btw. All of them are very well done.
@RequiemsACTL5 жыл бұрын
The difference is mainly in terms of more weight in the G4 and you have a higher power setting available for the engine I think.

The 109 was not taxied with the canopy open as it was too heavy (about 80 pounds) with the full head armour fitted and this strained the attachment chain/springs and it also loaded the jettison springs. The only time you see 109s taxying with them open is with modern 109s with no head armour fitted. Pilots were allowed to taxy with the side or overhead perspex slid back in case of fumes in the cockpit. Also, you didn't mention the fact that it requires constant application of the rudder to stay straight on take off and landing. If you look at film of the 109 taking off and landing, the rudder is being worked the whole time.
@RequiemsACTL6 жыл бұрын
Michael Bevan Thanks for the info about the canopy, I wasn't aware of that. I'll keep it in mind for the G6 onwards. Forgetting to mention the rudder is an oversight as I need to narrate these after I've actually flown it with a focus on getting the procedures right. I do mention rudder use in other videos but I'll do my best to remember rudder action in the future.

Could you do one on the G 6 please? As you may or may not remember, I had take-off issues with the FWs. But discovered from coming back and watching your videos the problem was me not pushing the nose down. Once I corrected that problem I was fine. However, that is not my issue with the G-6. My issue is it wanting to lean over onto the right wing during take off. I am pushing the nose down, but that just seems to be making it worse. I do not know if others are having this problem. But it is making take-off impossible. Could you do a video, and maybe I will spot why this happening. Maybe I am applying too much right break, or too much right rudder (to keep the plane straight causing it to roll onto its right wing). Maybe I am using too much throttle. (I saw a gameplay video), where the guy caught himself giving too much power on take off, and dropped it back to 74% throttle. Anyway, your video would greatly be appreciated as to what I am doing wrong. Thank you! (I should note: I do have Kuban, and this problem seems to only have begun since the last patch. Maybe they changed the flight model. I just know, now taking off is impossible)
@RequiemsACTL6 жыл бұрын
Michael R. Foreman I'll be doing a G6 video but for now it sounds like your controller may not be working right. You know about using the rudder already so I think you should check if the controls are assigned correctly. Record a takeoff and play it back but watch the control inputs to verify if there is a problem
@dr.michaelr.foreman21706 жыл бұрын
I did went out an tried it on other planes which I have had similar problems with i.e. FW 190 - and had no problem with take off. Therefore, I can only assume it is a problem I am having with the G6. Nevertheless, I shall see if it is somehow related to the my controller. I use a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro. and in fact just updated the software. Thank you for your response.

First of all, thanks for the great tutorials! I learned to fly the Pfalz DIIIa thanks to your video. Could you please elaborate a bit on the manual propeller "12-o-clock setting?" My throttle stick is a Thrustmaster TWCS and it has a rocking paddle that looks similar to the propeller pitch control on the plane, (although it returns to a center position if I release pressure). Do you know if this paddle is intended for propeller pitch control? Thanks in advance!
@RequiemsACTL5 жыл бұрын
Hi Gerardo, the manual 12 oc position is when you switch the propeller control from auto to manual, then use the propeller pitch commands to increase the pitch until the needles on that gauge are at the 1200 position. I don't know if the paddle on your stick is intended that way...but if you can assign them that way it would be a perfect way to use it if you wanted to. I personally rarely use manual propeller control in a 109/190, but I'll sometimes use it when flying the Macchi for extra performance.
@sgerar375 жыл бұрын
@@RequiemsACTL Thank you very much, I was trying to relate the 12-o-clock position to the switch, not to the gauge (I missed that, sorry). Now it all makes sense - now trying to learn how to taxi - it is hard! :(

Could you please do a lesson on the P39? It is the most frustrating plane so far for me. No matter what I set my mixture at, I still get a message to adjust my mixture. To make it worse, I will be flying around, with no indicators of any issues, and suddenly, my engine will just stop. Very frustrating when you end up having to ditch in the middle of nowhere.

Hi , what does it mean "convergence" e,g 1000 meter on the plane setting BF109 G-4 ? Just purchase the Sim and learning to fly properly. thx in advance
@RequiemsACTL5 жыл бұрын
It means that is the distance your bullets will come together at the same point (converge). Between 300-400m is good for Bf109s

Just another question from me, is it possible to show a emergency (scramble) take off and landing? (As in a war/under attack situation). Anyway thanks for the nice helpfull video's
@RequiemsACTL6 жыл бұрын
Hey Vader, well basically just close the canopy, go full throttle, and try and stay in a straight line. The less time you spend on the ground the better it is for you if the airfield is under attack. That technique is best performed at a field without place with a proper runway though, although you'll find in multiplayer people do that ALL the time since it's pretty easy to takeoff regardless of the surface. So if you are using the runway make sure people aren't blasting off in front of your takeoff run. Generally though, I wouldn't recommend doing it as you are at an extreme positional and energy disadvantage. Taking off from another field is much better for your health :-)

Hey Luxi, the way I'm making my future BFM videos it will be easier to understand what to do given a particular airplane matchup so whether its a 109 or a Yak you will know how to approach your situation.
