Lomi ‘ō’io or bonefish is a classic Hawaiian dish made of spoon scraped fish mixed with aromatics and other delicious flavors. A true Hawaiian delicacy that makes a great appetizer.

Lomi ‘Ō’io Recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup scraped o'io (bonefish)
1/4 cup water
1 teaspoon Hawaiian salt amzn.to/33RPjHz
2 tablespoons green onion
1 tablespoon limu kohu
1 teaspoon inamona (roasted kukui nut) amzn.to/3lP2Upa
3 Hawaiian chili peppers
Directions:
To a medium sized bowl add ‘ō’io, water, and Hawaiian salt. Using chopsticks or a fork mix until mixture becomes a paste like consistency.
Once you get the consistency you like add green onions, limu kohu, inamona, and chili peppers. Mix until well combined.
Enjoy!

I'm not going to lie that looks pretty delicious. I'm here because I saw a video of someone making it and Floridians were all upset calling it disgusting. I'm glad I watched hopefully I'll get to try or make it someday

You can use the fish head for fertilizer....but great video... awesome job!!

If you use the garden hose to Scale the fish then do you clean your garden or do you keep it there for fertilizer. I hope someone responds.

I leave it for fertilizer. But you could totally clean it up if you wanted to.

I don’t think California has Oio off our coasts. It’s more in warmer ocean waters. FL, Hawaii, maybe in the Gulf coast may have this bone fish

MA’AM CAN I USE ANY OTHER FISH FOR SUBSTITUTE FOR BONE FISH? DIFFICULT TO FIND BONE FISH IN MAINLAND.MAHALO🤙🏽

Bonefish is a pretty common fish in the mainland. This recipe is for 'o'io, but you could use another white flaky fish if you can't find it.
