Hey, man. I just wanted to say thanks for these videos. I bought this game just for the minis, since I plan on running a Bloodborne-based Pathfinder 2e game, but the more I looked into the game itself, the more I wanted to learn how to actually play it. You helped us get through some of the finer points, so we appreciate it!

That was flawless in my book!! Putting the tiles in a "circle" or close together and connected was a great strategy. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Just got the base game today and reading the rule book doing a trial run. This tutorial helps especially the overhead cam. Just struggling a bit with quest advancement but your vid helped a lot. The game is awesome once you learn the mechanics.

Excellent playthrough, probably the most accurate I've seen. Just one small correction (aside from the one someone else already pointed out about spawning not counting as "ending a movement"). Near the end, around the 53:00 mark, the Holy Blade Hunter returned to the dream to cash in 3 echoes; however, you never remove the figure from the map. Subsequently, on that Hunter's next turn, you don't start it out at a lamp, you simply continue moving as normal. Ironically this mistake was not in your favor, as you ended up having to spend an extra card to move when you could have just spawned at the lamp next to the Hunter's Mob you eventually kill.

Thanks so much for watching and posting. I forgot that once during play testing as well and I am just happy it didn't mess up the game in my favor. Thanks for pointing it out and hopefully I wont make that mistake during mission 2.

Very solid run. I enjoyed it so far. Just a minor mistake at the end, if you don't mind me pointing it out. You wouldn't trigger the last part of the Hunt Mission spawning from the dream at the Central Lamp. You need to end a move action there to trigger it (a bit awkward rule, but that's how it is). But, since you could have spawned in another Lamp and used your Hunters Mark to Teleport to the Central Lamp (teleport is considered a move action), it doesn't make much difference.

Thanks for watching and for the correction, I really apricate it and I am glad it didn't change the outcome of the game. I am hoping to have the next mission done and up next week.

Great report, liked it a lot. Shows the rule very clear. Only thing that I'm doubting about is the order of revealing attack cards you do. The rulebook states that all combats are resolved in the same way ("Regardless, all Combats are resolved the same way, taking the following steps, in order:"): 1. Select Hunter card, 2. Flip Enemy Action Card, 3. Dodge, 4. Resolve Attacks. But in your playthrough you reveal the enemy action card before the hunter card whenever they activate. That's incorrect, right? Quite an important one, because that is a huge difference.

Thanks for watching and for the question. Sorry I didn't respond sooner. I went back and watched some of the video and I can't find what you are talking about here. The one thing I was thinking of that you might be seeing is when an enemy attacks you as a hunter you don't have to attack them back. In these situations you would not play a hunter card during step one, next you would flip an enemy card to see what type of attack that enemy does (step 2) from there you can choose to play a card to try and dodge the attack (step 3). If this doesn't clear it up can you provide times in the video I can go back and watch and see what you are talking about?

Seems I owe you an apology, since I cannot find whatever I think I saw. I think it may indeed have been a dodge you did in response to the attack. So all good and sorry for the confusion. Your playthroughs are excellent at showing the game very well 👍🏻😎

Quick question, at 29:00, when fighting the Hunter Mob, he activates his ability which you then flip over to reveal his special attack. On his special attack it says "Stagger and Stun." In the rules it says effects happen simultaneously if moves have the same speed. Since he activated his ability, making his special a 3 speed just like your attack, wouldn't you have been staggered aswell, stopping your attack from happening? Because you took the effect of the stun and discarded your card, however, nothing happened from the stagger. Is it because stagger doesn't apply to same speed attacks? Does its effect only happen if it is faster?

Watching that part again I think you are correct and I just missed that as I was trying to resolve the attack, great catch. Thanks for watching and for the question;)

At 13:23 I think you forgot to do the Enemy Activation at the end of the Saw Cleaver Hunters turn (in the fog gated area). The Mob would’ve attacked him before Ludwig’s Holy Blade Hunter took her turn.

Played it today for about an hour and I was absolutely lost and frustrated even with the rulebook at my side. I just put the game away back in its box and watch this tutorial first instead. Thanks for this video. BTW, how would you rate this game against Cthulhu DMD? Your own opinion. If I got BB is it worth it to buy DMD as well? What did you like better?

this game is hard. i was playing it 4 players last night and it felt like we weren't making any progress.
@LearntoPlayGames3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and posting. Ya this one can be challenging. One suggestion would be not to worry to much about the monsters and continue moving through tiles. With four players you could break off into two teams and cover more ground as well.

So if I get this right you actually completed chapter 1 quickly like within 4 rounds but decided to continue? I had no idea how to complete this chapter even though I got two insights done and somehow kept dying.

When you killed the hunter mob from the quest, I thought the cards say that they would still respawn back? Or is that only while the quest is active?
@auracle61842 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the hunter mob from that quest should respawn on Blood Moon resets.
@ShizzleDaFrizzle Жыл бұрын
I think you made a small mistake at the first blood moon phase. You correctly respawn all the creatures on the tiles, but you forget to also respawn the mob from the hunt card (it says on the card, it respawns on a blood moon). Did I get this right? Or am I understanding this wrong? Great video, it helped me understand exploration, combat and how to go through the missions much better than I did on my own! :)
@Fusirion19903 жыл бұрын
With the FAQ out, I'm pretty sure you had to take 3 dmg or dodge from the ongoing special ability of the Ferocious scourge beast. Even after shooting it down with Ludwig's rifle as it was still slain? Otherwise very good runthrough to teach the game.

Very interesting slip of the tongue at 2:45, "I keep the most interesting turns out of that", shouldn't a video aim to show the most interesting turns rather than omit them :DDD ? At 6:45, you say you could keep moving, yet you revealed the card for the Ransacked House for which the trigger was to end your move on that tile. In order to reveal the card, you had to end your move, thus forfeitting the other movement point you had going in. You could've moved up to the enemies prior to revealing the card, but the way you played it, it would make move in for one, reveal card and then back away to the Central Lamp seem like a legal move, which it isn't. 18:15 is one of those cases where the Intelligent and Cruel rule should be applied. Meaning the worse option (IMO) for the Survivor would've been to stay on the Central Lamp tile, far-left space, behind the Minion, forcing you to deal with the enemy before completing the mission, or at least preventing instant completion using Bold Hunter's Mark.
@LearntoPlayGames3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and for catching the mistakes. The first one cracked me up I can't believe I reversed it. That would be a very boring video that way;) For the second point you are correct I must end that move action before reading that card. I didn't explain that very well I would of spent another card to move at that point but I was not clear in that nice catch. For the third point that is a hard call I see what you are saying and it is defiantly a solid point. My logic was she would want to move as far away for both hunters and enemies if possible. Great point and one I will think over as I am playing the second mission. Thanks again for pointing these parts out. I love analyzing this stuff and seeing how others play and see things;)
