In this lesson, you will learn how to identify a one-step equation and how to solve these types of equations with addition and subtraction. The goal here is to isolate the variable "x" on one side of the equal sign. In order to do this, we add or subtract terms. Once the variable is isolated, the we say that the equation is solved. We can add or subtract any number you wish to an equation as long as we do the same operation to both sides of the equal sign.
