After quitting porn you become very present in your own head and life feels like your actually experiencing it to the fullest. Every guy should do it to feel free from this normalised addiction.
@DurvalLacerda3 жыл бұрын
What made a major difference for me was the ideia of forgetting porn, the ideia of "letting it go". It's way more dificult than it sounds because it genunially feels like you are giving goodbye to someone you love. I feel like porn, or any addiction, is fulfilling the place where it was supposed to be a strong connection with someone, where "love" was supposed to be. So when you "let it go" it leaves an empty space behind, a space where you can't run to it seeking confort anymore. You are forced to make a new connection. That's why most men fail: they don't have something to fulfill the empty space left behind from porn.

Six months back I went through Jordan Peterson's self-authoring program, which was a road to hell and back, in more ways than one. At the end I put together eight goals, as the program suggests. Goal number one? Adversity and resilience. My life has had a stack of challenges, including, to name just one area, having been in twelve separate accidents where I was quite literally inches from death. That's just a start. Anyway, I knew more than anything when everything fell apart I HAD to find ways to fight it out, look for the benefit, learn, and, above all, develop resistance. Because adversity is always coming but resilience is a choice. I feel very validated because it seems my goal one is EXACTLY what you are talking about here. Feb. 7 last time I looked at porn or masturbated by the way. Keep up the amazing work, God Bless, Doc!

Stress gets me. Pain and stress. I am a survivor. I left home when I was young. You're exactly right. The discomfort does drive me to the fix. Hot women that I am objectifying. That's horrible. I'm psyched. I've been trying to block porn for a year. I may switch to straight TV instead of internet.I can see how the work is interesting. I am considering online school to be an ADHD Coach why not learn more about this. And help with this if I can. So, you're saying "the hijacker" can come to us through difficulties or even other people. There's no people to attract that's why I turned to the screen . How could I ever get comfortable doing something like what you are doing. I haven't smiled in so long that I look mean but I'm not..I need to build up my smile muscles. I rarely smile. Dopamine hits from walking away like from completing a project or job even at home. I get a Dopamine hit like that. Action steps. Absolutely right. I have quit before. Thank you. What she said at 10:50 resonated very well and I'm dissapointed in myself that I didn't hear that when I had broken my 48 day streak. Looking back now I gave in due to sever anxiety which I felt for the first time in my life as I hadn't watched porn for almost 50 days and my mind had nothing to go to compensate for that feeling. It's unfortunate how I broke it and feel like im back at ground zero but there's never a point of giving up and I'm going back again and confronting that feeling many times over instead of giving in to the urge.

I went without pmo for 4 straight weeks. I've been slipping up lately, but I'm okay with that. Not only is it a part of the recovery process, but I'd go as far as to say that's it's an important part of rediscovering your natural sexuality. I noticed that when I abstain from porn for a while and then go back, I tend to gravitate towards material that is closer to what I'm attracted to in the real world, as apposed to what I escalated to with prolonged porn use. Instead of getting off to sexual dominance and humiliation, I'm just simply looking at models and being aroused by their natural physical beauty. I'm basically at the point right now where I was when I first started looking at erotic material online all of those years ago. Just simply looking at women, avoiding nudity as much as possible, and getting aroused without masturbating to ejaculation. Still not the point where I want to be, but I'm defiantly making progress.

Respected Ma'am, I just subscribed you few days ago and have started rebooting. I had a question: Does quitting porn means that we should quit masturbation(without using any visual or Aural AID) too?(Is it possible?)

Doctor,Does it count as a relapse. (TRIGGER) Yesterday, im fantasizing about a woman. and i didnt move i was pensive for 10sec or 5sec. and my blood start rushing in. and im feeling hot. (Almost relapse(Im feeling about to do it)) i said in my head NO. and i didnt relapse. i didnt touch my d*** or erection. Just my blood rushing in and i started feeling so hot. thats my first ever experience since i started brain reboot. I didnt erection ( getting hard ) or touch my (d***) Just a blood rushing in idk what is it. And started feeling hot. idk if it was my house temp. THANK GOD I DIDNT RELAPSE YESTERDAY. i keep saying NOO. and it worked.Yesterday i was so bored. and tired. ( before fantasize )

so I never liked addictions and steered clear of them . then my significant other tuned into a porn Chanel and its how I started but gave it up because I prided myself on never being addicted to anything when she said I was addicted ti chemicals dopamine I successfully took your advice not perfectly and after time I have my mind body back and Ed is subsiding and tried it on a real human and it felt very normal so I think in time our marriage will return?
