I’ve conquered my addiction through prayer and meditation. Once you overcome the addictions what used to be attractive to you when you watched porn isn’t anymore. Pints with aquinus once said that, ‘ many of the women whom participate in porn have drug addictions and have been sexually assaulted. With that being said this should be an eye opener to everyone.

It is not too late for you at all. You're not a hopeless case. You're depressed, so you feel hopeless, and you feel like you're the worst case. You're not though. There are millions of men struggling w/ this, so you're nowhere near as unique a case as you think. They do say misery loves company, as in knowing you're not the only one is how I mean it. Not that you'd want to drag anyone else down. Be easier on yourself and give yourself a sliver of hope. Keep searching around for other people who go through this. Who won't condemn you and will help you see you're not horrible, you just have a horrible addiction, but people break free from this all the time. God loves you, right now, just the way you are. It's ok to know you're worth loving, no matter what. Quelling the shame is the first step. Having a bad habit doesn't make you bad, or a lost cause.

Trust me, I know what that's like since I didnt get a gf until I turned 30. The craziest thing was that the reason I wasnt successful in my pursuits of women was because I didnt chase after having sex with them. We, as a society of men, are taught that it's wrong to objectify what. NO! This is not true. Actually, its ONLY TRUE WHEN IT COMES TO PORNOGRAPHY! Women want to be kissed, loved, and effed all day long lmfao. It's TRUE. Whatever enjoyment and pleasure you feel during arousal, women feel that 10x more. They just want a man to satisfy them physically, emotionally, and spiritually. That's what they ultimately want. You ever read that book men are from Mars and women are from venus? I read just a short summary of it but basically we as men are taught to use Love to have Sex with Women WHILE in the contrary to our logic women are taught to use Sex to get Love and capture the mate of their hearts desire. Let THAT sink in! Ps. I'm still a bible believing Christian, and know I'm a sinner in this subject. That's why I had such an uphill battle with my relationships women. I just want to rid pornography from my life and dedicate myself fully to my gf.

Dr. Leigh, I see that every related video only mentions "watching porn". When you say "watching porn", are you making "masturbation" a given? Meaning that, when you say "watching porn" do you actually mean "masturbating while watching porn". I was wondering if porn addiction can exist in the absence of masturbation. Indeed, many people watch porn in order to gratify themselves. But if porn is used for hormetic benefits -- as in using Cue Exposure Therapy to stop the urge of masturbation while seeing pornographic images -- can it not then be beneficial? Do you have cases of men who view porn but do not masturbate to it. Do you have cases of men who view porn but do not use it for gratification? Thank you.

You’re only fooling yourself. Don’t watch anything that triggers.
@aichujohnson84443 жыл бұрын
@@deanfehr9445 I'm sorry, but I don't see how "fooling oneself" would fit here. If I am wrong, I would know that I am wrong by the virtue of failing to abstain from onanism. I watched to my heart's content, but I refused to touch myself. After about two weeks, I didn't really feel there was a point to watching porn anymore. So I stopped watching. One thing I should say is that it decoupled the visual cues from masturbation. If I am accidentally exposed to something sexual (i.e.: music video or scantily clad women on the street), it does cause me to have urges like it would others. I don't have to fear the cues, because they no longer are the cues. It's nice that you were able to abstain for 2 months. Congratulations. So the new pathway we create in place of the old one is that something specific or is it just everything else we do in our lives? Or are we training out brain just to deal with what’s causing us to watch porn differently? (Example: frustration can give me the urge so if I train my brain to think about the solution to what’s frustrating me before I thing about porn is this what you mean by new pathway?)

Find something that will bring you fulfilment, laughter or relaxation to yourself if possible around other people. Basically, an activity that will release healthy amounts of dopamine instead of flooding the brain with unhealthy amounts.
