I always thought "mefii se" was English ie me feel se lol. Goodness thanks so much. I'm here to improve my twi but more importantly to read and write Twi. Love how you even explain which part of your body to pronouns some words. Very accurate. You're a great teacher.🇬🇭👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿

I thought the same with mefii se. I am also here to improve my literacy in Twi, as well as improve my Twi overall. I also agree that the nasal promptings are very helpful for beginner learners and sometimes even native speakers like me who need improvement.

That's a very interesting observation. I hadn't thought of that. But I'm thinking they might be different. We usually say "mefeeli sɛ/mefeel sɛ", which is just we using a borrowed English verb to say "I feel that". So if I say "mefeeli/mefeel sɛ Kofi nni fie", I'll translate that in the lines of "I feel (that) Kofi isn't home" But if I say "mefii/mekaa sɛ Kofi nni fie", that I'll translate as "I thought Kofi isn't home". But this subtle difference may all just be in my head with all the Twi data I'm having to process. I'll look more into it and see if I find anything in this regard. Or, maybe others can help us out here. Medaase pii, Belle Kay ne TheArrival 😊

@@learnakan You are a world-class educator and you do such a great job at interacting and responding to people's questions. This is not the first time you are actually responding to my post with speed even though I am not as fast as you when it comes to responding. Evident in my response more than a day later ;) Your work is so thorough and professional. I believe your platform needs more exposure, so I do my best in sharing this channel along with the website with anyone who expresses the interest of learning Twi. Has LearnAkan ever thought of the Idea of expanding the platform in future by incorporating all the other dialects and language branches of Akan? I really hope LearnAkan develops into a large internationally recognised Akan language institute bigger and better than the likes of Goethe-Institut and Institut français. From my YT comment to God's ears

😊❤️ Thank you very much, me nua. And "Amen" to your (our) prayer. I really appreciate your encouraging words. Yes, there have been plans from day one to include the other major dialects of Akan in the future. It even played a role in settling for the name LEARNAKAN. Nkakrankakra, we'll get there. Medaase pii.

@@learnakan I discovered long ago that any KZbin comments will come up via search by name in major search engines like Google. I don't want any future employer, or anyone else, to be able to read all of my KZbin comments. I just prefer privacy in that area, so I have a KZbin account under a different name.

Me kyea wo Tikya Kofi In the example, "mekaa sɛ" what does kaa (non-nasal) mean/indicate? In the later expression example, "ɛkaa me nko a" you state that kaa (non-nasal) means "to remain, to be left with". Is the meaning for kaa the same for the first expression example I listed??

Yaw please in the example m'adwene y3 me s3 why do we have to add me before the s3? Ive noticed in twi we write the pronoun more than once. Can't we just say m'adwene y3 s3 and it still be correct?

The literal translation of that is in the lines of "my mind/thought does me that/like". But this gets lost in translation, as is common when we translate between different languages.

Sad you still have the background jingle - makes listening stressful and does not add to the excellent content. Confused by na mefii sɛ ɔbɛkɔ - I (had) thought (that) he/she will go, as it would be "would go" in English and not "will go"...
