dude you should definitely react to Rainbow Gravity. It probably has the best Periphery solo

Hahaha, the part where you went from 0.5 to full speed on the video is always what makes me break a cold sweat when I try to learn solos, especially ones by John Petrucci lmao. Anyway, for 0.85 speed that was really solid for a first day attempt, good stuff bro

Yea exactly, you feel like you've done some proper progress and then you listen to it full speed 😁😁 if you really made it that far in the video, i admire your patience, thanks 😁🤘

@@alekoshred Oh for sure, it was fun seeing you wrestle with that one so I watched the whole thing. Might give it a try as well, the arpeggios and slides seem pretty fun :D

As someone who has used tabs his entire time learning guitar, DON'T do what I did. I can play all kinds of stuff on guitar but my ear is not very good. It takes longer by ear but it pays off in the long run for sure.

thanks for the comment, i usually make jokes about learning with tabs but to be honest both methods in combination give the best results (if tabs are available of course). But one thing's for sure, we all love certain songs that don't have tabs online so our only choice is to learn them by ear. So at some point we're all faced with that challenge and overtime we start developing an ability to learn songs faster, because the ear starts associating certain sounds with shapes that we already learned in the past

@@alekoshred I think it's totally fair to use tabs as a way of checking your ear, like "hmm I can't get this part right, let's see what tabs suggest". But once you just use it because you're lazy (like me!), that's when it becomes a problem. But you're right, sometimes there are no tabs and you just gotta get those ears working ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

ever considered learning the guitar again by turning it around so maybe it becomes easier to learn stuff or use a whammy bar and stuff?
