Although I can't compare myself in very many ways to Larry, one thing we have in common is some lackluster calves in relation to the size of the rest of our body. So when I see some poppin' calves that are actually on par with the rest of the body, I'm envious lol.

It’s about quick twitch genetics. There’s a motion fast that has to occur for big lifts. Bigger muscles take too long to build the twitch energy to move the weight. Also all the fibers aren’t even used it’s genetics. Depends on the genes.

Everything is genetic, im sure Larry doesn’t actually hit calves optimally for growth, or atleast never prioritized them. I had very small calves, then i prioritized them, now i have average sized calves with great shape and still growing. Nobody has bad calves if they work them often for years.

I only started train them much more frequent less than a year ago and already notice very big progress. That’s considering the fact that I trained for 10 years before without any visual difference. Sure they were very strong (and still are) but weren’t growing. For reference: I used up to 5 plates (20kgx5) on seated calf plate loaded machine and max out standing one (120kg). And that’s with slow/controlled negatives, pauses up top and below for 2sec…..

However, not to boast of my profession, degree or experience, I'm not talking about the genetical disposition of a person which varies even among twins, or a specific part of the body which can be more gifted in a race than another race(for example white people have thicker calves than black people). I am talking about the mass of the quads, that does not have anything to do with genetics, it comes with training. Larry does not train his legs, himself will tell you. Look at his videos and see how many of them are dedicated to legs? Not even one percent. Larry does not train his lower body enough for the upper body he has. Just look at his quads and you can perfectly see that the muscle in his quad are not develop as those in the upper body. And this you can tell without the need of any degree.
