I know med school is hard, but everything you do seems to make it worth it.. You inspire me so much; I have been waching your videos since you started med school.. I am know doing a Psychology Bachelor, but I really think COVID times made me doubt myself and not go to med school after all. Now, I finally started to study for med school and to take my deficencies once I finish this bachelor's. It is a long, scary and tough road, but I am glad to walk it with you and your beautiful community and that I'm not alone!

Please don’t feel like you will bore us (especially me lol) with all the details of what your learning about your field! I’m in school to be a Postpartum Nurse but it’s still so comforting to hear someone speak about their passions whether or not it’s something they’re interested in 🥰💕

I’m so glad to see you practicing your sutures. I’m 2 weeks postpartum and my husband said that he was watching my OB stitch my 4th degree tear and was very impressed how she was suturing me up coz he said it was very bloody down there (sorry TMI) and wet. But it was so reassuring to know that my OB was so good at what she does especially with all the other complications I had with delivery and postpartum. Keep up your practices, Rachel! You’re going to save many lives! Oh yeah, my mom is an OBGYN too. ❤

Dr Southard AKA Miya Hero, if you ever have time I would greatly appreciate your viewpoint as a new Dr, whom has access to more experienced OBGYNS to speak on the morbid subject of when the baby's head becomes detached from their bodies. Is it preventable and how and why does the news get their hands on the information so quickly and why do they broadcast it? Thank you and as always your my hero.

Hey guys!! HELPP ME OUT PLZZ!! I am at a point in my life where i absolutely do not know what to do about my career. I am from Pakistan and currently enrolled in 1st year pharmacy school as i didnt get admission in any medical school. I was pretty happy and enjoying my uni stydying pharmacy but when even i see any doctor or someone preparing for MCAT something inside me breaks like i want to be in their position and be a doctor SOMEHOW and all of a sudden regrets pile up that maybe i did not do enough i was laçking. I am seriously thinking of giving MCAT this year too which is in aprrox 2 to 3 months but dont have the courage to leave pharmacy either as i am fearful if i did not get admission in medical school then what will i do ?? And my parents would have to pay the penalty fee also if i get out of pharmacy program.... i am torn right now really depressed.... Plzz give me a sincere advise PS. I had a huge passion for becoming a doctor since childhood but idk whyyy.. even after doctors regretting doing MBBs i STILL want to pursue it depsite all its cons.

You follow your dreams and go be a doctor don't get in your own way you will be let with regrets go for it you only have one life go for your dreams
@katedenucci5672 Жыл бұрын
If you really want to pursue medicine and you know that’s what you really wanted, then I would say you should follow your heart because at the end of the day, we are all going to turn 30 someday. I do believe that I would rather commit into something that I know I will not live in regret because in worse case scenario, even if it’s not going to work out at the end, but at least I (you) tried rather than not trying and then live in regrets. I hope that makes sense. Otherwise, I think you just need to believe in yourself and know that you are capable of doing anything you set your mind to.

Hi, Rachel. I loveeee your videos and have followed you for so many years now!! I wanted to know your thoughts on using terminology like "baby and parent" instead of "baby and mom" during discussions of pregnancy and birth. A fellow med student friend of mine who identifies as trans has been really instrumental in helping me learn about gender-inclusivity in medicine and I think it would be so amazing to have ob/gyn feel like a safer space for patients who might already be feeling all kinds of dysphoria and stigma and shame when receiving care. Just a thought! Love your videos and so excited to follow your residency journey :)

Thank you ❤ I am a 5tb year medical student from Nigeria.
