We wanted to get pizza delivered tonight because it's a holiday and we deserve it. After watching this, I'm boiling a 88 cent pack of spaghetti, making my own sauce with 3 lbs of tomatoes I bought on markdown for 99 cents and defrosting some ground beef that I bought on clearance. That's what's for dinner tonight. Not some $20 pizza. Always love coming to KZbin to watch these rants when we have moments of weakness.

Dave is like the family's rich uncle that no one talks to because "Oh, well, he's crazy because he found a way to get out of debt and doesn't mince words when he sees us getting under in our finances." But if you listen to this rich uncle, you will find a treasure trove of invaluable tools and methods to help you to obtain a financially peaceful future if you are willing to make the sacrifices.

This is what my wife and I used to argue about. Saying "No". We're only 24 but our families always ask us for money because of how much we make and the moves we're making financially. We share the lessons we get from these videos and how we're able to afford our new car and our new house but they don't care about that. They just want the money we bust our tails for every day. What sucks is that my wife gave in because she's just a sweetheart and doesn't say no despite knowing our goals and despite knowing I'd be upset. Point is, saying no and sharing the things they don't want to hear is powerful.

I found it awkwardly and really hard when I have to say "no" to homeless people. Because my heart wants to give all the time but I'm not where I want to be financially. It's hard to say no. But one of Dave Ramsey's quotes that I really love is that you live like no one else, so later you can live And GIVE like no one else" this really helped me. Sometimes not helping people and giving them money, gives them the power to help themselves.

vincent bryan It is true. If you gave $ to everyone you saw asking for it you would have none. I have $30 in my car in 1's. I use that money each month to help people on the streets. In the beginning of my marriage the word No was seen as an insult, setting boundaries was seen as offensive by the people closest to us. But over the years my husband and I have learned that the people who were being this way were the unhealthy ones not us. Don't let anyone family/friends or strangers walk all over you or guilt trip you into toxic unhealthy relationships.....just say No and let them deal with themselves.
@Geraldine2955 жыл бұрын
Brilliant! I've got quite good at saying " no". It's amazing how many people here in the UK will find the money for new mobile phones, yet more clothing, nights out, holidays, new car, etc but panic at the thought of losing their job because they have no savings. I know a lot of people who spend their money as fast as it comes in because they are constantly enduring themselves like overgrown kids. And then people wonder why so many kids have grown up with a massive sense of entitlement!

Amazing opportunities fly under your radar every day. It's impossible to be in attendance for all of them. Positive constraints on your expenditures will provide you with opportunities that you can enjoy. You just have to say "no" several times, and when you finally say yes (when you can afford it) the world can be your oyster. I try to remind myself of that every day.

I told a group of young people one time at church that one of the most important words they would ever learn to use is the word NO, and that one of the most important people that they would learn to say NO to is themselves.

My wife and I have knocked over $25,000 from our student loans by saying NO to other things that just don't matter.
