The level of craftsmanship is obviously of the highest order. This is as much a work of art as it is a sailing vessel. No doubt the maintenance effort/cost would be commensurate with the quality. If I could, I would take her in a heartbeat, never mind all the naysayers about any practical shortcomings. Worth the price just for the quality of the build. Bilges still dry from the looks of her. Stunning.

Thank you for your great, low-key tour of a really beautiful "woody". Nothing else is like a well-thought-out, [ obviously from lots of sea-miles ], finely-crafted wood sailing vessel. What beautiful lines ! Fair winds, for decades, and decades...

This looks to be the perfect "tool" to explore the PNW cruising grounds it resides in. The wind and weather here doesn't often cooperate for using outdoor helm positions. Having a comfortable indoor helm position extends one's season and increases comfort. Additionally, the PNW weather also doesn't allow for a lot of sailing. Having a bit of a motor sailor is a pretty good feature. For 37', there is a lot of boat there!!

This is a stunningly beautiful and well designed boat. As your followers have pointed out, there are some real issues. However, if I had the fare, I could easily overlook the fact that this is a wooden boat. I would gladly make some practical alterations, and proudly sail this boat around the world. I will be watching for more of his designs. He gets an A+.

Crazy level of craftsmanship. Probably worth every penny of its asking price, considering the amount of labor and materials invested in it. From a practical standpoint, the market for the boat is going to be extremely limited. Someone will need to have the funds to do the ongoing maintenance that this lovely wooden boat will require. One criticism is the narrow side decks. Love to see those widened by even just a few inches.

Really wonderful design and very nice layout for the interior. Having the pilothouse as the salon means you have so much less claustrophobia then traditional layouts. With those settees down forward you have the choice not available otherwise as to where you would be more comfortable. Imagine this in a 40 to 45 foot boat!

Beautiful piece of art....the attention to detail is self evident...the only thing left to do, is add solar, perhaps a small generator, and for me I would have to have A/C...Canada does have very hot summers...but an ice free harbour in Victoria where year round boaters lay up for winter. Just surprised I didn't see a stern roller for tying up when anchored up in the Rain Forest....l would probably add to the electronics pkg. ie A.I.S. and depth sounder, perhaps a bow thruster. The Bilges were dry as a bone and very clean....

A beautiful vessel. I could even put up with the double end design. Love the retractable sprit, and the house. The 4-108 is more like 40 hp on a good day and underpowered for this 28k# boat with broad beam and windage. Even that could be remedied in the future. But I could never own this vessel. The wood construction is a labor of love. that is a love to work your butt off and bleed your wallet in maintenance. It you kept it in high latitudes it would help. But yeah, beautiful.

If the boats been built with the wood Epoxy resin coated and glass inside and out as required she will be good for decades.. on deck if the epoxy it over coated with UV resistant varnish she will stand up to the elements for quite a few years before re coating given the experience of Wharram cats and luxury UK wooden boat builders.

@@roadboat9216 Fair enough but i think this one was built by an enthusiast with experience and short of accidents I would say theres a high probability of this one being a 99%er. Even if you dont like the design layout. Im not a monohull fan unless they can get in close and dry out when the tide drops.. In the uk that be a long way and for a long time and we dont have that many marinas that are not tidal either. ..at least affordably.

Very nice all around boat :)! If I was in the market I would buy It -- assuming it sails as well as it looks :)> I would remove the heater and install another bunk. Bunks for four is the usual/ necessary on this size boat. I'm not the type to do cold weather cruising. You can warm up the boat with the stove for early fall cruising. and or have a propane heater.

Having owned both molded fiberglass and wood epoxy boats, I'd take the wood epoxy boat over a production glass boat any day of the week.

Are you sure that's a bathtub and not just more cold storage, like a cooler you add ice to, hence the drain. Seems quite strange to stick a bathtub in the middle of the pilot house... It doesn't look like the back of the bench moves out of the way enough for someone other than a little kid, certainly not an adult....

You don't know whether the boat is a epoxy-glass-wood composite build or only wood. Modern wooden boats use epoxy to seal the wood from changes in moisture as well as creatures who likes to chew on wood.

@larstheu true but whether it works well or not depends on how and how well it's done. I still don't see the point. But even assuming that it's been done the right way, there are several other practical concerns that I and others have mentioned, like narrow decks, lines running through the middle of these decks, etc

Surely that price is a misprint? You can buy a very good motorsailer for a tenth of that price. Plus most motorsailers with a pilot house have an aft cabin with a good size twin berth or double berth layout. So not a great use of space on a 37 ' boat.
