I've been watching your react videos for about a year and subscribed a while back but I just stumbled across this video because I searched crazy love covers. I think I've only ever seen your react videos, and I already liked how you approach breaking down songs to learn them on guitar for those. After seeing this, I really like the way you explain how to think about playing in a band or with other people and the aspects of arrangement. Thanks for putting this stuff out there. I like the way you teach. When I'm ready for lessons, Im going to sign up for Guitar gate. I think I'd like to learn from you.👍

Really great lesson. Plus, Love your explanation of the abstract pace of this song. Joni Mitchell has a lot of that element. Especially in Coyote.

I like the comments at the end. Sounds like he cares if we nail it. I'm not playing with others but guess that's very different to playing solo, very interesting. I often use several videos when I'm learning a song and this adds depth and texture. Thanks.

Hi GG, I appreciated the breakdown of the mood (from the player's point of view) that you laid down at the start of this track. While by far the simpler song, I'd be interested to see what you can do with #learnthesong Fields of Athenry. There are a few licks in some version I've never quite felt happy with.

BTW - which version? Dubliners or dropkick? I might do a combo..

Good question - I heard the song for the first time at a Pogues gig that the Murphys played support for (a long time ago!) but being an acoustic player predominantly I would say the Dubliners version for preference. Something tells me that the Murphys version is in a different key, faster and obviously a lot more crunchy, but otherwise pretty close to the traditional version.
