We tackled assembling the bike as a family project. kzbin.infoUgkxzg0clhbtRf2gGxPkVETFKJJKGqdsorQu The package is heavy, but I have 2 teen boys that were able to move it. The written instructions were great- we didn't need to watch the videos, but it was good knowing that the option was there if we needed it. After we were able to get it set up, the boys each rode 3 miles and I rode 8 and the bike stayed quiet. The display is easy to reset, and you can put it on whichever setting you are using (time, distance, calories, etc). I will say that my butt is a little sore from the seat, but that could be because I haven't rode in a while. While it is comfortable for me, it was not comfortable with the seat position for my friend (could not move the seat back far enough and he slightly looked like a kid riding a tricycle that he had outgrown). He also said that the seat hurt his manly parts. We are going to look for a different seat that will be compatible with this bike for him.I did purchase the Wahoo Cadence sensor and strapped it to the crank of one of the pedals. This will sync with my Apple Watch, iPhone and will import data in to my Health app. Wahoo does have other sensors available other than cadence. I can also keep either my phone or my iPad on the display and they both feel pretty secure.

Just a thought. I went for standard bike. Arrived as scheduled here in the UK 5 weeks later. The screen is HD but for improvement 4 K would of been great. Bigger screen sounds good BUT this is also quite a big piece of equipment in your home so if you have a lot of space that's great but otherwise as a piece of art in one of your rooms it's more than big enough. I then use the app on my TV for other workouts so no need to swivel still syncs and on a 50 something inch screen with no need to cast and doesn't have to be alongside the bike. Outside of that changing the resistance is fun and is like changing the gears on your bike. Whichever one you get the eco system and experience is VERY good. Definitely a good life purchase! If you need a code let me know! For me I never use the speakers but hook up via blue tooth to my Bose headphones which have so far paired instantly. 👍🙂

thanks for all your reviews; thought i'd follow up on my research -- in the past i had relied on long hiking [10 mi./day] and/or jogging/freestyle on a mini trampoline 20-90 mins./day to get in shape & maintain health. i ventured into the bike area due to weather constraints and a rambunctious dog who likes to playfight when i'm on the trampoline :) -- and after seeing how none of the real contenders for my $$$ had any sales on black friday, but rather seemed to price gouge as the holidays approached, then keep prices elevated, i revisited the cost-benefit analysis of all of the above plus treadmill options. conclusion: any of the bikes reviewed here plus a dedicated, non distracted workout session, assuming the prices were to fall at least a little, *would* be worthwhile, but not as profoundly effective as the benefit of exercising on a rebounder/trampoline for the same length of time at a teensy fraction of the cost. and so, i have become better at negotiating workout time with my dog. bikes are great, but i will have to wait to enjoy them. thanks again!

So I'm torn between the peloton bike, myx bike, and stryde bike. I'd go for the myx bike but I'm seeing many reviews with monitor/connectivity issues. Love the software on the stryde being able to use multiple platforms of apps, but the monitor doesn't swivel. Like the peloton bike and can get a swivel for the original or cast, but I don't seem to get my money's worth like I would with the myx bike plus. What I want out of a bike is cycling and off the bike workouts. Meed a nudge towards one because I'm down the line on all 3
@Learnwithtravis4 жыл бұрын
So, I don't put the heavy usage into one bike like most because I bounce between so many bikes but... my MYX has never had a single issue and I have never questioned the build quality. I did have to talk to support a couple times (not bike problems) and they were super easy to work with. I don't want you to get a bike you think may be problematic, but everything you said makes me feel like the MYX is the bike for you. It has that balance you are looking for - quality screen, rotating screen, off the bike content, on bike content, scaled back in certain areas to provide a better price point.... It sure feels like that is the match for you! Good luck Thomas. I know these decisions are hard.

Love my bike + but wish it wasn't so anti-garmin. I love my fenix 6 sapphire and would never replace that amazing watch with an apple watch. Garmin has a such a huge ego system for working out, running, biking and similar - its a shame Peloton has been so resistant to linking with Garmin.

Another great review video Travis! Thought I would update you. Have had my bike about a month. I am about 40 rides in. I am addicted! Very fun yet tough! Today I placed 20 out of 116 people in the class. So definitely improving! My only struggle which you may be able to give advice on is getting my cadence up when peddling standing. When standing (no matter what level of resistance) I can not get my cadence above 60-65. I am also still using cages. Would getting spd peddles and cycling shoes help or is this just something that improves with time?
@Learnwithtravis4 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Mallie and so happy to hear you are loving it! Getting SPD pedals could help a little bit because you feel more connected and can comfortably push yourself harder. But my guess is technique is probably the more important piece. Do you pull up with your opposite leg when the other is pushing down? It is easy to think of this like riding a bike (right foot push down, left foot push down, right foot push down) but you are leaving a lot on the table when you do this. It feels weird at first but learning to pull up with the opposite foot helps support the cycling motion and more easily reach higher cadences. Also, when standing I sometimes finding myself leaning side to side too much and trying to push the pedal to the floor. This makes it harder to be fluid and keep your cadence up. I have found that keeping my core engaged, keeping my body centered, and almost trying to keep my feet floating instead of pushing down real hard helps. Not sure if that makes sense but focus more on the rotation instead of pushing down hard only. Last, try to dial in your resistance. Too light and it is hard to be fluid because you need more feedback. Too much and you obviously can't reach high speeds. Hope that helps! Also.... time... you get stronger and dial in your technique. 😀
@MallieRose914 жыл бұрын

Of all the bikes I have tested, both of these have 0 stability issues for me. They are well grounded, feel very sturdy, and work with your body movement very well. Personally, I would not let the wobble factor into the decision because it is not bad in the slightest. 😀
@scottybscott3 жыл бұрын
I was looking for this comment. Mine did that too, I’m wondering if it’s a flaw? Your talking about the handlebar/monitor part right. It would bounce/wiggle side to side. I went to Dicks, to try 3 other type bikes. They were worse.

Call me crazy but when i rode them in the store the bike + felt a little more sturdy than the original... like it didn’t wobble as much
@Learnwithtravis3 жыл бұрын
Hmmm. Maybe! Bouncing between mine they both felt very secure and sturdy but it is possible. They may have had one mounted a little better than the other or maybe it was better. I think you would be happy with the sturdiness either way, but go with your gut! 😀

So can you do strength, yoga, etc.. workouts with the basic bike as well?
@Learnwithtravis2 жыл бұрын
It is there but the monitor does not swivel so it is a little harder to use. A couple options fix that. Either buy an aftermarket swivel or cast to a tv in the room.

On the peelton Bike (regular) is there an HDMI or a port that can allow connection to my phone or macbook? Than you

If that is the only feature that stands out to you, probably not. For some... yes, but I would have a hard time spending that much for one feature.

Curious for your opinion since you said both monitors are really great. I have only tried a peloton (original) in a peloton store, but the screen looked....old, like a 2012 LCD screen. Nothing like the color/motion/smoothness of like an ipad screen or something more modern. Did I just get a bad impression or does it differ for different generation of bikes? (Sound was also pretty disappointing but you mentioned that in the video!)
@Learnwithtravis3 жыл бұрын
Hmmm. I wish I still had my Peloton to go take a look. I was always impressed with it. The only time the quality seemed off is if it was still buffering for some reason. Maybe I didn't hold it to a crazy high standard though. I didn't treat it like a high end TV where I want the best viewing experience. I always thought it was more than enough for a very nice exercise experience. When I bounced between these two bikes, I never felt like their was a massive quality improvement from one or the other. Although, the Bike+ is newer and nicer so I am sure you are getting more.

Do you see Peloton branching out to other indoor exercise equipment beyond the bike and tread, such as a rower with rowing workouts? Like NordicTrack or Hydrow?
@Learnwithtravis4 жыл бұрын
I do. I have no inside information but with the success this company is having, their brand popularity, and how they stock is doing... I have to imagine they are looking at ways to have "Peloton" versions of other popular equipment.

Does the auto follow work well? I noticed lots of rides where the suggested resistance and cadence aren't updated correctly at times on the regular bike.
@Learnwithtravis3 жыл бұрын
I always thought so but I never over-analyzed the timing of the resistance changes. I just enjoyed the fact that it was doing it and I could focus on my exercise. Hopefully over time they get better at this as I am pretty sure it is someone just adding this after the live ride is done.

I am very overweight and unfit will the Peloton help me?
@Learnwithtravis4 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. Indoor cycling is amazing cardio, specially when you follow the instructors and push yourself. So it can definitely take care of the unfit part and help with the overweight part. Although, I will say my personal belief is you can't out run a bad diet. So a Peloton like exercise option is a huge step but getting your diet in check as well will be crucial. Best of luck Selina!

I just ordered the bike a few days ago so won't receive it til April... but was just curious if I can use my watch. Thank you!!
@Learnwithtravis4 жыл бұрын
Hi Huda! I am pretty sure it will not work on the original Peloton because it requires a ANT+ HRM device which I don't think yours is (Google your model). As far as Bike+, I would reach out to Peloton. I don't know if they support more than ANT+ on that model or not. If you do find out, let me know as I am curious too!

Hi Travis! Will you be reviewing the SoulCycle bike?
@Learnwithtravis4 жыл бұрын
I sure will!
@lisbethshibley1583 жыл бұрын
Travis, i think you missed two things 1) the plus is less stable because the monitor and monitor arm are much heavier on the plus so it rocks when riding... just slightly... and probably only noticeable to those that have ridden the bike but definitely a difference. And 2) on the plus the weight holder is plastic not steel like the original and it does not have the shoe holders like the original. These differences make me sad to have traded my original for the plus. These are definitely not improvements and are disappointing downgrades in the riders in my house opinions.

Hi Travis Got the bike+ and quite enjoying it but my question is, we are looking to purchase a strength workout machine. Wondering why you choose the tonal instead of the tempo studio?. If you would be able to make a video comparing the 2 . It would be wonderful 😊.
@Learnwithtravis4 жыл бұрын
For me, I had enough lifting experience that I was not worried about form feedback. I also wanted more resistance. I liked that the Tonal was more compact and easier to switch between exercises. I was ready to have a break from switching between free weight options. Nothing against free weights, they are great but sometimes moving your weights around between every workout can get old. I can see scenarios where each option would make more sense. To be honest, I am thinking about getting the Tempo but it will be a little while out as I have to wrap up some current videos.
