Leathering a Range Rover Classic centre console part 1 Auto upholstery

In this video I Show you how I wrap a range Rover classic centre console in black leather.
Including alterations to the centre console so all the parts fit correctly, pattering of the console and the gluing of the leather.

most standard spay contact adhesive will work just make sure that it states that it will glue ridged plastic.

Do you strip off the old covering and then sand?

yes, I never cover over a cover

Very nice job. The results looks perfect. What about the cointrays next to the smaller gear lever? Do they have to be closed because of the leather not able to cope the shape?

They were already omitted by the owner when he had it reenforced, but they can be done but they need to be cut at the bottom and rubber inserts cover the bottom of them

Last week 5 hides of saddle tan Conolly leather arrived in my workshop for a customers Range Rover Classic. After watching your work I am really scared to bring them to a local upholstery shop. I am not sure the results will be that satisfying.

Admire your work a lot! Is the leather a special kind (thin and stretchy)? And what filler did you use to prepare the console parts?Cheers, Boelo

Its just a standard Auto upholstery leather. I didn't do the filling , it was done in Bahrain
