Leaving the U.P.C. with Alexis Beach Part 2

I'm so excited to have Alexis back on for part 2 of this interview. In Part 1 she discussed the ins and outs of the UPC, detailing the many ways in which it is classified as a cult. In part 2 she explains how and why she left the UPC, how she ended up hating God and turning towards the New Age, as well as how God graciously saved her from deception. After that we talk about ways to help others caught in Christian cults, and Alexis gives some great resources for anyone leaving the UPC. This was so so so good! It’s crazy to think that they teach a false doctrine in the UPC since my whole life I’ve been told they are the only ones who have the truth. Not to mention the amount of spiritual abuse that happens in this organization. I’m so thankful I walked away and can say i have a true relationship with God and know him like I’ve never known him before. I wouldn’t have had this experience if I hadn’t walked away from that organization.

Is there someone in here that I could talk to because I was a Baptist all my life and just recently went to the upc I don’t agree with a lot of what they say but it was the first time in my life I felt the presence of God

The pro-choice birth culture is HUGE and crazy. I’m a doula and midwife’s assistant and we are like the only Christian group in our entire community in our state. Thank you Alexis for addressing this! The birth room has become a spiritual battleground, and we need more Believers speaking truth around this and into this community!

I may have commented this before, but even in the SBC church I grew up in, it was like premillennialism was the only view that existed. Alexis is completely right in how premillenialism is very much used as a scare tactic (hence how Jim Bakker can sell nasty food buckets with a "30 year shelf life" for donations). I thank BEZELT3 and Fighting for the Faith for basically turning me into an amillenialist. Personally, it feels so much more peaceful than having to continually look for the next end times event.

Thank you Alexis for sharing your story. One comment I have is about when you stated that you believed atheists were mostly just angry at God. I am not an atheist nor a Christian. I did come out of the UPC. I was a regular Christian before the UPC and for about 10 years after. I consider myself agnostic and it has nothing to do with being angry at God. I just don’t find peace or Love in organized religion or by believing in one certain higher power. Every atheist I know aren’t mad at God, they simply don’t believe in a higher power. They are wonderful, caring people who try their best to help others during this lifetime bc they don’t believe in an afterlife. Please don’t lump together a group of people just bc you do not understand them. It’s dismissive and not very respectful of others. Thank you

Also, if you are a true atheist, you can’t be mad at God. Because you don’t believe in a God(s). If you are angry at God, you’re still a believer.

I never thought I would ever agree with an Atheist but here I am. Never say never. I agree with you about organized religion. I am not a fan and I came out of the UPC Church. I believe where so many Christians have been mislead and no fault to their own is simply they believe in and trust in religion and do not have a relationship with God. That is the difference. I also agree with you that these young ladies are judging and misinterpreting the word of God. Please stop tearing down and gossiping about others that you know nothing about. This is not love. No wonder there are non believers watching garbage like this

@@darcygilbert1353 HI Darcy, just wanted to share something with you so that you will have a better understanding with your latest post in suggestion that this Atheist is still a believer if he is angry with God. . We do not know IF his god is the same God that we serve. I learned this from experience. Traveling all over the world in the military and learning church history in Bible College you learn that many times a God to there is not the same as ours. I remember living in Germany and I became very good friends with this young couple in the military. But something just didn't seem right. As time we went on we were talking about God and I thought we were just sharing abouts God's goodness and grace. Then he said something that didn't jive with me. I stopped and asked where they attended church? His reply was we attend temple. So I am thinking Mormon, Islam but no.... they were Wicken. I was floored. So.....I said is this like devil worship? He said no, we practice Wicken which is the study of witchcraft. From that day forward, I learned a valuable lesson and asked the good Lord up above to give me a spirit of discernment. And he has.
