Fay Rahman I’m sorry you had to go through all that. Fortunately my parents were not as abusive. It’s still a hostile environment since I came out however. I’m in school for nursing, I graduate in a couple years 😌

Drawing on your personal experience and the knowledge of how the community you grew up in works; wound it not be ideal or even urgent for you to start up a charity project to help all these other young women that could be undergoing through similar situations to escape to normal life? Surely this sort of work could turn out to be one of your noble service to humanity.

It's crazy to listen to family members behave like this. They should prize themselves lucky that they had an angel like you as their daughter. I'd have doomed my own existence just to fuck them up if my family had treated me like that. I wouldn't have cared if it ruined my life henceforth, if I could take them with me in the fall. Kudos to you. You deserve MUCH better than them.

I'm currently doing my degree, I'm in my second year :) I've worked as a teaching assistant for nearly 5 years now. Gaining financial independence wasn't easy and I still struggle with money from time to time. It's very much a work in progress 😞
