Very well done video. Thank you for showing the world how large the over-lander community is. Right now I teach English in Vietnam. I'm an American, happily stuck here. I live in a High Rise building on the 30th floor but before I came here I lived in my van for 2 years while I finished up college. When I look back at it, the Van Life was by far the best time of my life. I actually admire all of you who are still out there. You're only trapped or stuck if you look at it that way. Mobile life is freedom. Keep that mind set and you'll do fine. Here at the High Rise, everything is also locked down but I have access to an unlocked roof so I enjoy launching my Mavic Air drone from the top of the world. It's my way of getting out into the fresh air and seeing whats going on around town. If I ever go back the the US, I will probably build another Van. I sold my last van to a former US Navy submariner. I figured he would thrive living in a tube. Haha. It had everything. Solar, Propane, CB and marine band Radios, a fridge and lots of other bells and whistles. So during my 2 years I had lots of time to figure everything out. My next van will be amazing. Life really is what you make it. Hope to see you out at Quartzsite Arizona in the near future. Check out my drone videos shot here in Vietnam. Hope it helps to keep that traveling spirit alive kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3_YlImQbd-nbLc And kzbin.info/www/bejne/d6vTi3RseNGopdU

@Manfred Seidler....hi from UK and i know exactly what you feel. I started campervan touring in Europe 15 years ago. I couldn't wait to finish work so i could tour more often for longer periods without the hassle of work. I retired at 60, bought a newer van, and spent months each year touring around (mainly Eastern Europe). In 2018 i returned from a tour planning to change my van for something with more comfort....i was getting older! But in 2019 i was diagnosed with prostate cancer and since undergone radiotherapy. I sold my van but am now 70 and though my heart wants to go back to touring, my head tells me it's over as i'm also due to have surgery. At least i had a little "window", have some great memories and met many lovely people, but will miss the touring badly. Looking back, the ideal time to start this is as young as you possibly can because no matter how fit and healthy, age certainly brings many issues you'd not planned for!

Manfred Seidler I’m 67 and been in my camper for three years, one thing I see is people stop themselves from living the way they want young and older. Don’t use your age as an excuse, face your fears. Mine was necessary to solve a problem and accept my living like this.

When you bring up God our Creator it encourages me to share about the biblical seventh day sabbath He created at the end of creation week in the garden of eden. The fourth commandment reminds us to keep the sabbath day different. Work six days and rest the seventh. We honor sun day out of tradition from Rome year 321 ad. This message is another proof of God’s love for us.

I want to address something to the people that are stuck in Argentina, in our country Citizens and foreigners have the same rights under our Constitution. I'm a lawyer and a Police Officer in Buenos Aires. I understand that not speaking the language may be challenging, but know this, you have the same rights than us.
@leaw4 жыл бұрын
Hi Cristian, we totally understand that foreigners have the same rights under the Constitution, but practically this is not true, unfortunately. The law says we need to stay home (home home not home on wheels) and we don't have this in a foreign country. Some of us are not allowed to move and to go home home in their home country. We haven't seen people living here in Argentina close in a gate with the police outside, or people that are not allowed to buy food, this is happing to some of us. The government set up a special phone number to call the police if they see any foreigners, this is not happening for the citizens.

@@leaw well you are in a small province, well not small in size but in the amount of people that live there, far from our Federal Government, I can understand that some thing may be more difficult, but that will be the case if you are in a rural area in any country, people tend to be more close to other, and protective. You see the police forces in those places are less professional than the ones that depend of the federal government. I'm part of the Federal Police, and we are well aware of the executive order of the president, and how to apply it in different cases like yours. Stay safe, and like I said, know you have the same rights as us, here in Argentina we love Italians, 50 % of the population has Italian ancestors, like me, my Grandfather was from Italy, stay safe, everything will be alright.
@cristianfederico24114 жыл бұрын
@@stjameso15 You don't know what are you talking about, Argentina is one of the most open countries in the world. I don't know where are you from, maybe in your country there is xenophobia. This is not the case, we are in quarantine like most of the world is, and of course, this will create problems, and it does to citizens as well.

Everyone, travelers or not will have there own story. This was so great to see all of you , all in a short period of time. I hope and wish for all if you nothing but the very best. It amazes me though just how afraid people are of travelers. I'm thinking they would be more safe that city and town dwellers. So my friends, relax and try to enjoy the ride. I wrote in your last video, a new subscriber. Started looking at your beginnings and wow...a walk down memory lane. I turn 65 this month. When I was 15 I was in Canada. I left home and went to the Yukon...from there to Alaska. .I was a hitchhiker, a different world then. After a year in Alaska I moved to Vancouver and then hitchhiked across Canada and back. I was originally from USA and eventually got back to California. Seeing your Vancouver, Yukon and Alaska videos is so great. I have no pictures except in my mind of those days...Of course in 50 years sure looks different. Thank you so much. In your last video you mentioned part of why do these is for people who cannot travel. I was injured in back and spine 20 years ago and hurts to be in a vehicle. So bless your hearts...I know it's a lot of work. And blessings for loving and caring for the animals. I'm on a very low income but spend my extra rescuing cats and caring for until I can get them a home, respect.

Living in a van/truck/suv/crossover/etc. isn't going to end as long as it remains a viable way of living for folks with modest incomes. The lifestyle existed before it became 'monetized' via KZbin, it will continue long after those revenue streams diminish because it solves a problem(s) in society, that being housing and safety. I enjoy watching your videos, keep up the good work.

@AmiJurgl, This is the most honest comment on here, and I see it is also about the only one without a heart response from the channel. People are afraid and don't want to face the reality of where we're at in this time. This is a permanent global change, and life will never ever be the same. Better to accept that and prepare than deny it and become lost. Find Jesus NOW people, there isn't much time left before the mark is required.

Let's hope when this is over. That people will learn that strangers are not always a danger. We are all human beings . In the end, we all have the same concerns. To be healthy and safe.

Thank you guys for doing this video! I am not a KZbinr, started travelling in my van last August ... talk about the universe overriding my plans with the bigger plan :-). Rented a house for a year now, van parked in the yard. Holding on to my dreams.

The joy of wanderlust will never be extinguished, but after this experience, globalism will be looked at in a totally different way. As soon as the pandemic hit, countries around the world slammed their borders without concern for foreigners. People will have long memories about what can happen.

While I agree 100% about the shock of harsh treatment of foreigners having repercussions, I suspect there could be a big increase witnessed in overland van travel. Safer than flying and staying in hotel rooms regarding virus avoidance, even with a vaccine. And Vlogs like LeAw's are the how-tos.

No one treats foreigners worse than China. Foreigners beaten up foreigners not allowed in shops, restaurants and are being kicked out of hotels. Signs saying :No Blacks" are everywhere. And no one says a word. Imagine if London did the same. Or New York. Or Paris. Or anywhere but China. But then I suppose no van lifers in China. And probably more van lifers want to "go home" rather than try to stay where they are.

Epic video! I am very sorry for those who are not being helped in the best way and I hope that changes as soon as possible. Unfortunately it is a new situation for everyone. The phone number is not to report foreigners, it is to report anyone who violates the mandatory quarantine. Across the country, more than 30,000 people were detained, delayed, or notified for violating the quarantine. All this is being done to save time and be prepared for the worst escenario and to overcome this moment all together with a common purpose in the best possible way. Because la vita e bella and always will be.
