Lebanon’s 2019 Protests Ousted a Prime Minister - So Why’s He Back In Power Again?

3 жыл бұрын

The first wave of the Arab Spring didn’t spread immediately to Lebanon, but it didn’t take long for the effects to be felt here. One and a half million Syrians took refuge in here, to escape the civil war at home. Over the past decade there have been two major protests movements here, in 2011 and 2015. They were a foreshadowing of what was to come. Although the Lebanese state was collapsing slowly, it took a disaster to trigger national revolt. The events of late 2019 marked a shift in Lebanon but it was events that followed that continue to shape it today.

it's not that complicated to be honest it's simple Lebanon is ruled Iran militias and by greed politicians, and when people fought back nothing happened because there is no democracy in Lebanon and there is no peaceful way to over throw the government only to solve the problem is some super power to interfere like America/NATO it will make worse but at least ur are not ruled by Iran

Etc etc... so pushing the hezbollah issue to the side because it's "too complicated to solve" and focusing our energy instead on small and irrelevent issues who won't do real change is just a waste of time. In the process, if many of you died, then what's the point of holding on to this world? Please come because HE is going to come soon now and HE is going to destroy all these evil people.

probably the best is to split the country like north and south Korea, as clearly the sect political party never work, as they need to understand each other even if its mean corruption. remember it is the sect by religion. Best is split to half and citizen have a freedom to choose, if one side decides to use Islam and another decide to use Christian law or whatever law, so be it, and let the people decide which they want to stay. and we will ask Vice to check back 20 years later.

The government of Lebanon never cared about its own people. The country was set up as the "Monaco of the Middle East", where disparate cultural, political, and religious oligarchs and their families could playfully intermingle and hold control, while denying its citizens a clearly grounded constitutional identity. Lebanese baby boomers waited too long to overthrow these political players to secure their stability. That job has been left now to their children. The "off with their heads" approach worked well for the French citizenry in 1789: these young Lebanese might consider that strategy, outrageous as it may seem. They have nothing left to lose at this point.
