To put those numbers in perspective for 2002 the only guy to end the season with 25+ points 6+ rebounds and 5+ rebounds per game was Tracy McGrady. Prime McGrady. He did that on 45% from the field. Kobe shot 47% from the field that season. MJ before getting hurt was matching these guys at age 38. Mental.

I just going off of memory watching a wizards game live while the commentators was talking in the background and they pulled up the scoring leaders. Lebron James wasn't even in the NBA at the time; he came the year the next year Michael Jordan left. Actually I don't know how Lebron even came into this conversation. My point was very simple; that Michael Jordan at that age at one point was leading the 3rd leading scorer in the NBA for the while playing on the Wizards. I am going off of memory what I saw an heard. I do admit this was during the season so maybe it didn't end that way. I don't remember if it was the first or last season; I also don't remember how far into the season. I remember watching the game live and they brought that up on tv. Yeah Tracy McGrady was in the NBA at that time but at that moment Jordan still was ahead of him when it comes to the top scoring leaders of that season at that moment.

The game where Ron Artest hacked him and took thae ball just to have Jordan chase him down and take it out of his hands was phenomenal considering his age at that time. Statistically, pre-injury MJ as a Wizards, he was a top 3 player in the league, as a 39-40 year old. But anyone who watched him during these years know, as impressive as he was playing at his old age, he was no longer the same player. That’s why his time with the Wizards was underrated... because fans can’t accept the reality that we were witnessing MJ decline. He was still amazing, but he was a sub-par version of himself and it was obvious. When LeBron came back the first time from Miami he joined a young Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love. Kyrie is a stud, and Love is a great 3rd piece. He also benefited playing in the east, where they would never have to play any of the top 3 or 4 teams until the finals (where obviously ended up playing the warriors every time). So here's the thing about that 6 point game Michael was a competitor still is its a mindset. With this in mind with that game that hit Michael differently made him second guess himself. This man is and always will be a different kind of player. Never have i ever seen someone push so hard on offense and defense.
