My man Knox! I truly appreciate your break down of all these bars! I just started watching reactions this year. For my opinion’s worth, I find that a lot of reactors react to how dope or venomous the bars are and I can appreciate that because I can feel it too most of the time. Others give break downs but they are so boring or have too many unnecessary filler moments. In your reactions, I stay engaged and LEARNNNN more insight into the artist’s head and I get those “ahhh, that’s what he/she meant” moments. You also appreciate the dope venomous bars too, so you really give the all around experience! And finally, this break down is special to me as this is my favorite Dot song. Appreciate you brother, keep it up!

I love the engagement with a controversial song like this. Kendrick is an amazing writer, and art should reflect the times and honest perception of its creator. What’s important is that we engage with content that challenges us and help us see reality as it is. Not how we want to see it

When I first heard this song I hadn’t been really introduced to rap as a genre and I didn’t know there were racial divides in America (white, but raised out of NA). This song has been a piece of art I kept coming back to. The more I learn about Kendrick, racial tension history, despair, double standards, and politics, the more relevant this song has become. The song has aged well, but only because we haven’t. As people. It’s like Rage Against the Machine that way. The only reason it feels relevant is that we won’t learn

Theres also the double of "Vandalizing my Perception" they aren't just making him look bad. They're making him look at himself in a negative light by vandalizing it. But in spite of vandalizing it, painting over it they can't take the style that's underneath that vandalism. The spray paint and the hate speech can be washed off, his foundation is still going to be there st the end of the day.

It would be sick if someone comes with an album called ‘Whips and Chains’ and the album cover was a dichotomy of slavery and perceived wealth through whips and chains. An effective cover could split the image: one side could portray the harsh, historical imagery tied to oppression, such as broken chains or shackles in a dark, minimalist style, while the other could showcase sleek, modern representations like luxury cars and jewellery. The contrast could highlight how certain symbols have shifted or been reclaimed, opening up a powerful commentary on history, consumerism, and identity.

Yo Knox, I created this rap but idk if you got a chance to read it yesterday, so I am reposting it. Knox Hill just uploaded, come watch with me bro He said his mom had cancer and just finished her chemo Next up is surgery and radiotherapy Don't worry, Knox, the pain is all temporary Keep appreciating time, you can never put a price tag On the memories you create, happy or sad Even when you think you're going through a bad time, Just remember you'll look back at it with a smile. (this is the first 8 bars I ever made, don't flame me if its bad lol) I just wanna say, I will pray for your mom for her treatment and for your family too. Can't imagine what everyone is going through right now, but the important thing is to just know that this just a bad phase of life, and it will pass. Nothing lasts forever. Just stay strong man, you'll get through this. 🤝

I keep my sub here and my views here because not only do you approach what you understand in a learned way, but you don’t SHY AWAY from the conversations that need to be had. I think that the lines about the penitentiary being the only place that will hire him could go even deeper and be a comment on how slavery is still perpetuated to this day through the overpolicing of black areas because the Emancipation Proclamation said that slavery was abolished EXCEPT as punishment for a crime, so the prison system is a perpetuation of the system of slavery in America and he's critiquing that
