Hye sorry, should we always assume the thickness for c/c splice plates is 6mm. If the assumption of splice thickness is increased, wouldn't the Pu2 be different.

Truly increasing the axial load to 15 % then calculate the thickness.. then check for actual load... Just like we used to do in footings.
